it is...but not that different...do matters of degree make that big a difference if the ultimate result is the same?
rino is an ill defined term, used by more than one subtribe to describe what they consider to be pretenders to their "true" purpose, which makes it practically impossible to accurately define...but you know exactly what they mean, as long as you know what the speaker's political leanings are, which isn't usually that hard to decipher.
true conservatives are as rare as true progressives anymore. the magats are way the fuck right of conservative, and the "conservative republicans" are still pretty fucking far right of the conservative party of even 20 years ago. centrists at the moment would have been left or right leaning the same 20 years ago...they've smashed the entire center together, while those to the left and right have gone to extremes that would have been a ridiculous joke when we were children, laughed out of office in shame

Two fascist ideas in one post

1) “prove me wrong” is simple load transfer. You have a duty to prove yourself wrong wherever legitimately feasible.

2) Guilt by association is another classic tool of the totalitarian. I reject it whole.

Your methodology does not survive test, whether or not our politics are in some agreement. I do not mistake loyalty for honor.

Currently the center-right has no political home in the States. As a dead-centrist, the right edge of the Democratic Party covers me best.
Before Reagan, the center could have a place in either party.

*on review, my personal politics have moved to the left. The social Darwinist ideology running through today’s right is offensive to me. I think we need more social democracy than we have. That moves me a click to the left.
