Happens every day, same story. They always say "I'll just put it with the furniture at the front" instead of shipping to a FFL.You should have seen their excitement when the border agent finds and AR15 buried way up front in the load of furniture. The guy was still sitting there under arrest in canada after an entire day. I think the show ended with him setting there after they released his family, might have been a 2 part'er...
Told someone that and they went and got caught anyway, he thought they would just let him continue to AK with his rifles and shotguns and just keep the pistols.
You just got to do the paperwork prior and not have any banned items. They actually prefer you have paperwork all filled out on arrival for those items, it saves them the trouble and they don't have to feed you.
We do that to Canadians with undeclared lumber. You should see the potato searches also.
It's surreal when you find out what they are looking for on any given day. They have a briefing and a BOLO for potatoes was issued, or new cheese and milk searches from Canada.
