My other Chocolate Rain is a female.
The mother plant has shown me her secret,before the small clone that I put in flower. (I wish I would have kept it back to veg. a little. I do have one in veg. now though, and its on the grow.
I have apprx. 4 weeks until I put my next rack in flower, so she may be good enough to make it into that rig.
I also put the male into a little containment tub, so I could flower him out and try my hand at breeding some seeds.
I'll get pics up today or tomorrow.

Here are the pics of the chocolate rain. I couldn't get a good pic of the female hairs, but they are there. this is the best I could do for now.
I know they're not great, but when I seen she was female I almost broke down into a sailors jig.(but I didn't know the dance so I just celebrated by saying "YESSSS")

I was thinking of putting a window in my flower room that would look into a little box made for breeding a good quantity of seed. Any thoughts on this?

I love how this plant branches out, and starts filling in with frost covered nugz early into flower.

Now 25 days in.

Here's a picture of The Dope, in my hydro rig.
She seems to love it. Growing into quite a bush, with a nice healthy color, and feel to the leaves.
She is also 25 days in, at the time of this photo.
I think it looks more impressive then her mother so far. Time will tell.

Whipped up some Big Laughing butter yesterday.
I put about 3 1/2 oz of bud and fine trim, 2qt of water, and 2lb of butter into the crock pot, and let it fester overnight on low.
Squeezed it out, and put it in the fridge to separate.
Made some chocolate chip cookies with the butter,and can safely say 2 was not needed.
If you like to make butter for medables I strongly recommend this method.
It produced a pretty clean butter, with very little of that nasty smell,taste that we all hate.

Had to get the chocolate rain male out of the flower room. He is DUMPING pollen all over now.
My containment tub is no match for this much pollen. He needed some water and I didn't dare open the tub. So out he goes.
I'll keep him in a safer area until I can collect a decent amount of pollen for spot seeding.
I plan on eventually mass pollinating one of my oldest plants, with either chocolate rain or the double barrel og.
I'll get some pics up today or tomorrow of where I stand.

A couple pics of the male chocolate rain.
A small tap of the stem, and this guy rains pollen.
I'm gonna spot seed the dope as soon as the one I want gets of age. I plan on mass seeding my oldest strain, and start a little project with her. That's in time though. Spot seed for now.

A little better than 4 wks, and the dope is flowering heavy now. I noticed that the trichome production seems to be quite a bit better this time around.
It's still real fine, but has ventured out onto the bigger leaves, where the first time around they stuck pretty close to the bud sites.
Maybe her first run was before she was mature enough, or maybe I just have the ability to keep her healthier in my hydro vs. the soil grow. I was unprepared for going back to dirt slamming.
I can't wait to run a whole rack of this stuff. The smell is as heavenly as I can imagine. My girl (non smoker,and wants nothing to do with it) claims whatever I have down there smells like blueberries and weed.Lol

The smell is really coming out heavy now. Musky weed smell, love it. It's a smell that an lesser weed could not fake. You know its good just from the aroma.
I'm starting to get what looks like a calcium def. on some of the leaves, but up-ing the cal/mag. has had little effect. If anyone has any Ideas on this let me know.

I didn't have much trouble 'till later in the grow with them.
I think they may be light feeders. In my hydro all plants share their water, and the dope is the only one with tip burn. I run them at 1800ppm,Ph 5.8 but don't have auto fill. When the water drops (they drink about 4-5 gal. a day) ph gets out of whack, and ppm goes up. The dope does not like this.
All others prob. don't dig it either, but they don't get leaf curl, or tip burn like the dope does.
As far as the smell goes, you aint smelt nothing yet brother, you are in for a treat.
I'm sure you'll get it figured out, if not let me know.

I harvested a little pollen from my chocolate rain, and lightly pollinated the dope, pineapple express, and trainwreck.
It's been about a week now and I can see the seeds forming. It seems I hit the dope pretty good. (still well controlled though)
I want to hit my purple kush also, but she's still to young.
The little chocolate rain clone I put in flower for sexing is in full flower mode now, and is starting to produce a good amount of trichs for such a small, mistreated, plant.
I have some high hopes for this strain. Thought about sprouting the rest of my seeds to find the best pheno, but I'm gonna wait, and see what I have already. (I'm cleaning house and only the best can stay. I want to get it down to five mothers.)
I'll post some pics. soon.
