Ty, there is nothing that really prepare you. You just have to go and see for your self. I'm here to tell you that just because its the AF that it wont be easier. My career field was 40% manned and I worked 100 plus hours a week the whole time I was in.

Just remember recruiters lie and the bigger the enlistment bonus the more shit your going to eat.

They have done a few "force reductions" over the years since around 2005 and never refilled the positions. So every field is at the bare minimum.

back in the dessert storm era that was some hard ass shit but in the recent years (maybe 10 was too much) its mostly "OKAY LETS HUNT FOR INSURGENTS" mostly they talk to locals and most firefights are some fuck 500 to 1000 yards away taking pot shots and running away


my uncle said it was like fighting ghosts just because they only took about 10 shots then bailed

and my old step mom's nephew said he would get shot by the SAME sand crawler every fucking day and they all freaked out and didnt do anything like rush him (he's got a shitty beat up sniper rifle) just sat in cover and emptied two mags at the general direction

in dessert storm at least they were 50 or 100 yards from each other like @6ohMax was in the hard shit a few years back but the past 2 to 5ish years they became OH SHIT ITS A TANGO DUCK instead of being a man and actually running up to either blow the fuckers brains out or getting there brain blown out

i couldn't be in the marines or the army because id run up on the fucker and kick his ass im young and i dont have much to live for and i put my life under the people around me so i would gladly run up on a rag head piece of shit and stomp his head in then sit around like a bitch waiting to step on a IED or get shot by a ricochet or worse watching my brothers getting shot at scarred for there life i have little fear and a disregard for my life

and yeah i almost did i weigh 215.7 now lol i found out i drank too much liquid bread and thats what was making my starving not worth it and ineffective

i made a thread for this because i dont know where else to ask were theres actual USAF vets lol but i guess we will find out next year if i'm ready for the air force or not

Air Force boot camp is suuuuuper easy. Here's some advice.
Chose a field you can make good money at when you get out. If they're gonna train you take advantage and let them train you in something you can actually use. I don't know anything about Logistics and planning..can you make money at it?
You're not gonna take a shit for your first week. It's weird.
They're gonna make you do a lot of marching and memorizing shit, most of boot camp is boring as fuck.
I think the time was 1.5 miles in like 12 minutes or something easy like that. 20 pushups and 50 situps and you're good to go.
Here's the main thing. Don't get all nervous and fidgety when people yell at you. It makes them yell at you more.
Practice going not giving a shit when dumb people yell at you. They're going to put a huge antibiotic needle in your ass and it's gonna hurt real bad for a few minutes. Umm..what else? They might gas chamber you, that kinda sucks. Oh..they might pull your wisdom teeth for no reason. They did that to me.

Good choice with the air force..not likely to get shot at, same benefits, college money AND the air force is super pussy about everything...the accomodations are nicer, the food is better, the girls are hotter...well not hotter than marine girls but those girls get pounded out like crazy.

ik im past the invincible phase of youngin life and if i die then i die i dont care anymore i have nothing to live for but i don't want to kill myself because i'd rather sacrifice myself for my country and go out doing the dirty work so people in the states don't have to so any permanent damage doesn't phase me none at all as long as im doing it for my fucked up country

yeah hahaha this^ is part of the reason why i asked a bunch of stoners that served because ik ya'll will give me a neutral to negative response on bootcamp and the military in general

fuck i almost want to go to the recruiter tomorrow lol just to see what all the shit he says then ask yall if its true or not
