Nugs: good for you. soil gets better with age. i like to put buffers back into the soil. as said in previous post sulfur is an important component of soil. and as ive ranted several times 70-80%of the total cation exchanges in your soil needs to be ca. gypsum can take care of both. oyster shell flour and cal phos will give you medium, to long release ca and k. on a side note where is the sulfur in super soil?? from there we look @ lime. my take is u dont need to add anymore for a long time. from there i say re-mix your amendments as per your usual super soil recipe.
side rant 2: got a 10 acre spot!!! going to be killing it next year outside. prep work under way!! ok i can tie this rant in to this dsicussion. in my new indoor room @ said spot i ditched the pots. and went to 4x8 beds made of 1x12 redwood. each bed sits on a botanicare 4x8 flood table. the bottom is lined with smart pot fabric and hardware cloth to support. soil: pro mix bails, ewc and perlite thats it. 1 plant every square foot 2 week veg topped once heavily pruned.
roots are not going to be restricted. and watering is a breeze. about 40 gallons through a wand every 6 days. post harvest remove main root ball. rototill with electric roto, add a bag of dr earth 4-10-7, more ewc and some oyster shell. water in with compost tea and replant
boom!!
