As long as the nitrogen toxicity isn’t too bad then that’s exactly what it does if you back off on the nitrogen Logan. The plant will draw nitrogen out of the leaves and they become a lighter shade of green.

That sucks man! 2 things I hate with a passion is root rot and spider mites haha.

Hey Logan, see how stltoed has defoliated and exposed the colas to light and air, all the way down. That’s pretty much what you want to do man. Especially on indica dominant strains.
Stltoed still has a decent leaf mass all the way down the colas.
And by the looks of it, has evenly removed leaves throughout the plant.
Nice example there!!

Thanks. That was a fun grow. The strain was King Tut. I want to grow it again in hydro to see if I can do better.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the king tut strain! Meant to be amazing quality if grown right. Looks like it yeilds good too stltoed!! :lol:
 
Don’t know if you guys have tried growing g13s Pineapple Express?
That was a high yielding top quality strain!
I’ve gotta find my old photos....... huge colas!! Grew very similar to blue dream.

I bought 5 seeds recently, but none of them germinated..... maybe it was me?
But have heard someone else on another forum had troubles germinating his too...
Would be in my top 3 favourite strains.

It was DNA Genetics Lemon Skunk. Funny thing.... I germinated 2 but the plants didnt look alike at all. The pics are of the other plant. It grew little pagodas. I was using an additive call Facilitor from Aptus if I remember correctly. Lights were Black Dog and a CMH

I know a guy who works with cell cultures. He says the most important thing about seeds is disinfecting them. He says 4%peroxide works just fine. Put the peroxide in a glass as you would to soak seeds. Instead just pour a couple fingers of peroxide put the seeds in and soak them for a minute. Be sure to flick all the air bubbles off and turn them so the peroxide hits all over. It's an easy operation so I do it.

On one plant, I began getting dark green glossy leaves up top where the heat stress was. It's definiely N tox. But on the other plant that is beside it, that doesn't have much if any N toxicity at all, is also showing raised edges and just generally lack-lustered leaves on some of the tallest colas that are towards the center of the tent, directly under the lights. I got some pics of my plants as of last night under CMH lighting only for an accurate color profile of the leaves. I am reducing nutes on all plants now, and doing res changes, perhaps this heat stress is simply a result of me running my nutes too high and weakening my plant's immunity to stress? My silicate product came in yesterday and all plants recieved a dose that is considered 'mild' on the bottle, which is 1mL a gallon. Given their overferted state, I didn't want to give them a full strength dose, am I right in that? Anyways, here are some pics.

The heat stress shows the worst in the two plants that are in the far back of my tent. The one in the far back right is the one I have close up pics of, and it has by far the worst N tox of them all. The plant to the left of it is the other plant that's showing mild-moderate heat stress symptoms, and as you might be able to see from the far out picture of them all, it really isn't all that dark green. It's really more of a regular, light green. When the tent turns on today I'll get close up pics of it! Just so you guys don't have to rely on my less than perfect description and all haha. But I totally agree, that's why I was shocked to see heat stress from 80F MAX temps in daytime. Maybe both of the plants are just overferted and it's making them less resilient to heat?...

How far are your lights from the top of the tallest plant?

So you're using DWC and your nitrogen toxic on only a few plants? If your plants are truly toxic then you should flush and run Ph water for a couple days. Your flowers wont do well at all with Nitrogen too high. It will migrate throughout the plant since its mobil but your plants arent needing much nitro in the coming weeks. Basically you're running out of time. One thing you may want to try is a vitamin supplement. Super Thrive or Thrive alive

When you add Silica put it in first and let it simmer for a while. Check Ph if its crazy high bring it down a bit. I've seen SI Armor as high as 11. Then add Calcium, and simmer, if you are using a micro nutrient put it in third and add your remaining nutes. This will help Silica play nice with Calcium, and other nutes. Be doubly sure you check Ph before you walk away

And yes your grow looked amazing Stltoed!! That's exactly what I am working towards being able to achieve! Growing autoflowers for so long I just got lazy in all honesty...lazy and complacent, giving the exact same nutes every grow and not being able to really do any serious plant training, it just left me ignorant of these more effective, more fun and higher yielding strains and training methods. So I apologize for sounding like a complete and utter newbie here, but the truth is I basically am because I've not tampered with nutrient dosage, and not grown photoperiods in nearly 5 years now. That's why I have so many questions about practices like defoliating...it's a totally new practice for me, and while I've literally read for hours ontop of hours about it, it's never as helpful as being able to ask another grower about your specific situation!

You're doing just fine. Theres always someone out there that has done it better, but when your smoking YOUR pot they are nowhere to be found. I think that's best. Point is you are the only one that needs to be impressed. Go out and find an easy bud to grow with a big yield something like Northern Lights or Big Bud. That King Tut was easy to grow, it's an 80% Sativa believe it or not. Dont do Girl Scout Cookies or another plant that has a 3 month flower, something nice and fast 8 weeks and done. We can discuss this further of course. I seriously hope you dont have Nitrogen toxicity. I've had it and grew 4 plants only good for oil. This stuff can be daunting, but one can kinda tell who's into it... the guy who reads for hours upon hours is the guy to watch, I see that in you

I think it is N toxicity on the plant I gave a close up of (in my own nooby opinion), but it is not severe or anything, there's no claw at all just dark green leaves with some that are very shiny and glossy. I don't see any actual leaf tissue damage done if you know what I mean, the leaves should be able to burn off the N IF I reduce the N enough. I cut my Calmag dosage by 50%, I'm hoping that does the job? My calimagic is only 1% Nitro anyways, but still...if you all think I need to remove the calimagic altogether, I will. I believe it to be in the relatively mild stage though, I sure hope anyways. Worst case scenario, one of my four plants just won't develop buds nearly as well. :/ But I really do appreciate that man I'm willing to do whatever it takes to learn! As far as I'm concerned, with the internet there is no excuse not to absorb tons of knowledge...but knowledge and experience also work together, and I'm a tad short on experience. Anyways, let me know how bad you think the N toxicity (assuming that's what you also believe it to be) is in the plant I took close ups of if you have the time, if I need to give her zero CaliMagic for awhile I will, last night I cut the dosage in half hoping that would be a big enough reduction in N to let her burn off the excess. Tent turns on in 20mins I'll see how she looks now. *rambling over*
