No, I didn't blame him. I'm just saying that having a lot of valuables on a property and having it well known should be thought through with the safety of the family in mind. Because, of course it will be a target for thieves. That he had a shotgun ready kind of indicates he did think it through and I'm glad he made it and the thief did not. Maybe the outcome will be different next time -- his is a risky strategy. So, maybe think through alternatives, such as is it really necessary to have fasleep where the crop is grown and processed.
I still don't understand the connection with rape, which is an altogether different crime.
Its you who are wrong about the statistics regarding accidental deaths and homicides, this is very well documented. I've posted links to credible sources before and found it to be a waste of time. re: your posting.

You say I blame victims and I don't. I do say that everybody should think through a situation and be smart about what they are doing. As a father, you bet I've had similar discussions with my daughter.
I'm not blaming the person who blames everything on liberals for his home invasion. I'm just saying that there might be better alternatives to consider rather than depending on an old shotgun as the first and only line of defense when he stores a large amount of valuable weed in his home.
I don't argue with drunks, I pay attention to where I am and what's going on, I don't frequent seedy bars, I don't hold valuables at home and if I did, I wouldn't let others know about it, I don't live in fear and don't own a gun. I'm also living in a safe neighborhood, know my neighbors and realize this isn't everybody's situation. I don't advocate for draconian gun control laws. I don't understand why this bothers so many of you gun owners.

While you seem to be one of the more rational libs in here and likable to a degree, I would stipulate that your "credible" sources are anything but and their statistics are fabricated horseshit that rely on suicides to get the results they want, especially the government agencies. Anti-gun organizations laughingly disguised as nonpartisan groups and university studies by flaming liberals don't hold much water either. When Conservative groups and the NRA start pumping out the same numbers, despite not wanting to, then I'll buy it.
