No actually the colas are the first to mature. Alot of growers prefer to do selective harvesting, only harvesting what looks mature on the plant. This allows the lower (popcorn buds) to finish maturing. It will take awhile for the plant to recoop from getting its head cut off..LOL....but after it does the lowers will finish up and increase yield, from what i hear.

Hey guys.....got some questions!
Made a trip to the store today, picked up a triple pack of Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro grow, Pro bloom, and Liquid Karma. These are for my hempy experiment. I got a three pack of these nutes for $10.00 and they are small 8 oz bottles. Perfect for my experiment of hempy growing.
It was a toss up between this or the general hydroponics brand, but got this cuz it was cheaper. Gave her a dose today when i got back....waiting on results for two days. Anybody with any experience with these nutes...please give me some pointers on how ya' use them
Not a hydro grower, so this is all new to me
I have a total of 21 tomatoes sprouted along with my new batch of clones and a trial on germing in rockwool. Just dropped a seed from mafia.#2 in some rockwool and waiting on results.
ALSO.........Buddy gave me a Pine Tar Kush seed today, anybody ever heard of this or grown this strain before It sound interesting but i hear it is a inbred strain!LOL!!!

LOL.....ok, looks like my white widow girl is right on track for coming down this saturday. Here are a few shots of my girl at the end of her 9 weeks in flower, and three flushes later.
The buds are so heavy on this thing i had to tie her up with pipe cleaners to keep the stems from bending over.
They really stuck out completly horizontal from the main stalk.
Did a little trimming of some yellowed and sagging fan leaves with long stems today. Prepping for harvest in another day or two.....depends on my schedule if she comes down tommorrow or not.
Lots of pics on this one guys.....hope ya like cuz it took awhile to get these......
. Cant wait to taste this smoke.

Pic. 1--Here are the germinating beans for the next batch of mothers. Left to right is the Pine Tar Kush, Northern Lights, and Violator Kush.
The VK already broke shell and is in the plug and breaking ground about to curl out of the shell. Not bad for three days from placing in the paper towel, huh? I hope it clones just as easy ..
The other two have been in there just as long and still no tap poking out of the shell yet. Patience ..
Pics. 2-4--AAAHHHH .yes feels great to be ahead of the game for spring planting in the garden.
Here are my two strains of tomatoes, Big Boy Hybrid and Super beefsteak. Along with a clone or two, a seed germinating in RW, and the VK breaking plug in the corner.
Pics 5-6--This is my hempy test run .
LOL....Besides being droop, scrawny, and obviously overwatered, anybody got a clue why this looks like this

Okay guys....
Since i have the time tonight that i thought i wouldnt have last night, i'm making the call to take down some widow tonight..
Just the top colas, then the rest will go back in to finish up for.....i dont know a week.....ya think?
The colas, as of last night, were looking ripe. (See Avatar)
Had a little fox tailing goin on but not alot.
The trichs make the buds have a slight haze of a rusty color when out of the cabinet in regular light.
Hairs are pretty much all died off and are now a orangish color.
the Calyx all over look swelled about double size from last week.
The lowers are still a little more cloudy trichs, so i went them to finish more.
Ill get some pics up.....you know me beech!LOL!
There is shure to always be plenty of pics in my journals....i think it makes for a better journal. A little knowledge from other growers, the story in pics of a newbies first crop, and the excitment of knowing you were there to help.

4 nice colas, got a total of 79 G. wet at harvest.
The rest of the plant is back under lights.
Do you think a week is good for this to finish up, or is that to long?
Better yet my PPP is going fast!!! The bush is swelling up everyday.
The NL Seed also finally broke seed today, now only waiting on the Pine Tar Kush. The Violator is out of the plug and about two inches tall already in three days!

everything i have in the clone dome and sprouting is on the last page, from the other day. Got some maters, strawberries,clones, and seed sprouts of violator kush in there.

Remember to tell your testers that you want 'brutal' honesty though.. Get pissy if they just wanna pat you on the back for giving them free weed.. Now that you know how to get weed grown, you've gotta obsess on the details of it..
I have high hopes for you.. Not often do I change my outlook, but you're an exception.. (For those who are new to this thread, I was really tough on lilmafia in the early days..)
BTW how many days into 12/12 is this WW now?

the ww was at the end of 9 weeks when i cut the colas two days ago
