Here are some pics/updates from yesterday. The pics are from yesterday, but the day counts are from today.

Cliff notes to catch up:

The other day I built a 2nd bubble cloner because my first one was working so well. I then took 8 cuttings from the CH#9 that had been super-cropped and then culled the plant to make room in veg. The next day I only kept the 2 best looking cuttings and moved them into a single cloner.

The first 4 cuttings: 2 Afghan at 20 days of flower and 2 chronics at a week of flower, are all starting to root. They spent 2 or 3 days in my first pail cloner with spray pump and air stone before they got moved to the DWC cloner. The cuttings I took 5 days ago from CH#5 in veg are already starting to make roots as well. I even put my Pyramid Wembley into the cloner for part of the day yesterday before I transplanted her to a #1 smart pot. I just filled the water level slightly so it was at the bottom of the net pot to keep the root riot moist. The taproot was out of the netpot before the end of the day.

Here is the veg box at the end of the day:

The 3 chronic clones in big pots are at 30 days of veg now. Wonder Woman is now vegging for 10 or 11 days (16 days from germ). The Pyramid Wembley is 6 days from germ and begins veg officially today. Once I get a bit more roots on the first 4 clones I hope to transplant them to 5x5 square pots.

Flower box:

Kannabia Power Skunk (KPS) [Gina]: 19 days 12/12
24 days from germ, 18oz Sq bottom Solo cup (DIY Air-Cup)

Afghan [Francine]: 30 days of 12/12 (14 days since pistils)
61 days from germ, veg for 26 days, topped 6 days before flower, 7qt DIY Air-Pot.

Chronic Clone #8 [Heidi]: 17 days 12/12
Veg'd for 13 days, flowered at 7 - 8 inches tall, now 21"+, #2 smart pot

Chronic Clone #6 [Isabel]: 7 days 12/12
Veg'd for 23 days, 2 stalks LST'd, 3.5ga DIY Air-Pail v1.0

Thx for joining. Things should start getting fun now. 35 - 45 days until the Afghan should be ready for harvest. Then I will need my carbon filters, some ona gel, and probably going to buy a small tent for my dark-room/hanging/drying area. Once the plants are being harvested every 10 or 12 days the spare bathroom could never be used for an actual bathroom.

Off to the stores tonight or tomorrow to try and find some training cages/screens. I untied the one in flower yesterday and she is yearning to reach the heavens already. :hump:

I had the cold floor problem too bro . I used styrofoam and rigged a deal to warm the intake air .
I got 2 seedling mats under my veg floor lining and am tempted to add a 3rd one. I was even thinking about getting one or two to throw under the sub-floor in flower.

I was wondering when/if you would add an avatar.... nice choice. :hump:

When I get some time later I will go thru all the pics of yesterday and post an update. Made some changes and gonna try some more experimenting. I had a good time.

Are those thrip markings I see or something else?
what are 'thrip markings'?

i am posting from the garden, on my ipad, smokin some homegrown bagseed currently. :hump:

cliff notes for my pic update later:
I bought 2 grow-through screens from home depot that had to be DIY modified because they were 16" diameter. Then I went to a local nursery and got a couple of plant support cages, similar to Hobbes. I setup a single plant scrog on the dual-stalked chronic clone that was 9 days into flower and the dual-stalked one in veg. The taller loop cages got trimmed down and put around the 2 single-stalked chronics in veg.

Today I am going to put one of the single-stalked into the flower box for transition. This should allow me to try a couple different techniques to see which method I like. I will have a 2 single plant SCROG plants and 2 caged LST plants (CCOB/Hobbes style, sorta). 1 of each will be getting trained during early flower/stretch and the others will stay in veg a bit longer for me to train more.

thx

things are gonna get interesting, i am sure. i like to tinker and try different things. i am also planning to build a bigger flower box/room in the next few months and am considering trying led lights and co2 in a sealed room.

Those little white dots on the leaves look like thrip bite marks where they suck the juice out of a leaf. Usually accompanied by silverish coating on parts of leaves as well...
Maybe, I dunno, thanks for asking. I will do some research and try to get some better pics. That is one of the clones so I wouldn't doubt they had some sort of bugs. :(

It sounds like it is time to get some neem oil finally, and some ladybugs. :S

In other news: My last attitude order just arrived. :hump:

What to order next,.... :weed:

hey man thought id stop by your grow since i have not done so yet, the plants look to be doing good man. and neem oil and lady bugs always works for me on mites and thrips.
after i found it worked for me i always kept a small army of ladies in the grow room, plus a mild spray of neem every once in awhile even if theri is no bugs.

oh ya im subbed.

thx, that is good to know. The grow shop is barely a mile away and I know he has ladybugs (and Neem too, I would hope), I was just hoping I wouldn't need them so soon. That is the chance you take with clones I suppose.

I was just flippin thru my pics for the last few days, working on an update in my head and deciding which pics to post later, and figured I will just post this pic for now:

cliff notes for my pic update later:
Here is the garden yesterday before the torture began:

On to the SCROG:

I bought 2 grow-through screens from home depot that had to be DIY modified because they were 16" diameter and my biggest pots are 12". I setup a single plant scrog on the dual-stalked chronic clone that was 9 days into flower and the dual-stalked one in veg.

The legs were 24" so I cut off 6" and gave it a try. It was a bit too high so I cut off the stretch ties I had used and had a casualty. :wall:

CH#6

I took another 3" off the other set of legs and it seemed to work better. This was already 9 days into 12/12 so I wont be doing much training other than guiding them where they want to go.

So then I did the same to the other 2 stalked clone in veg. I did the training in the flower box because there was more room:

CH#10

The legs were obviously too long for this plant also so they had to be chopped down 3" more, like the first bucket.

Here it is moved back to veg, for a moment, before I chop the screen legs back down:

Back out to get chopped down:

I figured I would probably go back to home depot for the couple other screens they had in stock so I decided to do some extreme LST to prepare them for going under a single-plant scrog:

CH#3

CH#5 (previously super-cropped)

On my way to home depot I decided to go to a local nursery first, and I am glad I did. I got a couple of plant support cages, similar to what Hobbes uses for CCOB. The taller loop cages got trimmed down and put around the 2 single-stalked chronics in veg. The top ring that I trimmed off may have some use as a CCOB ring, in the future, but not today so I used the bottom half instead.

CH#5

CH#3

Here are a few random closeups of the plants in flower, after I first opened the garden:

Afghan [Francine]: 32 days of 12/12 (16 days since pistils)
63 days from germ, veg for 26 days, topped 6 days before flower, 7qt DIY Air-Pot.

Chronic Clone #8 [Heidi]: 19 days 12/12
Veg'd for 13 days, flowered at 7 - 8 inches tall, now 23"+, #2 smart pot

Chronic Clone #6 [Isabel]: 9 days 12/12
Veg'd for 23 days, 2 stalks LST'd, 3.5ga DIY Air-Pail v1.0, SCROG'd 1 day ago.

Riding shotgun in the screen, the bastard child KPS. More on this midget later...

Kannabia Power Skunk (KPS) [Gina]: 21 days 12/12
26 days from germ, 18oz Sq bottom Solo cup (DIY Air-Cup)

And the veg room in the morning:

Pyramid Wembley (PW): 2 days Veg
8 days from germ, #1 Smart Pot

Nirvana Wonder Woman (NWoW): 13 days Veg
18 days from germ, ~5"x5" DIY Air-Starter pot

I stuck my finger into the cloner water and realized it could be warmer, so I moved the 2nd heating pad from under the floor liner to on top of the liner under my clone tub. Hopefully it helps enough that I can try transplanting the best clones to soil pots in a few days and keep them on the heating pads in their new pro-mix homes (probably 5x5 air-starter pots).

Today I had to decide which of the single-stalked caged clones was going into the flower box for transition. I decided to transition the one with the most branches (CH#3) so I would have more time to train the other one (CH#5 which was cloned) to fill out the cage better before flower.

I also sized up these cages for being used with #3 Smart Pots and it looks good. I plan to flower the NWoW and PW in #3 Smart Pots as the first test with a 3 gallon smart pot. I hope the grow shop has a few more in stock.

CH#5 is in the 2.5ga tub and CH#3 is the 3.5ga pail. It would make sense to let the one in the bigger pot veg longer but CH#3 is a lot more filled out already because I didnt take any cuttings from her.

I ended up deciding to flower the fuller of the two plants, CH#3 in the 3.5 ga air-pail. The CH#10 single-scrog (SSCROG) in veg will be the next to move to flower in 10 days. CH#5 in the 2.5 ga air-tub will get 20 more days of veg/training to fill out the cage.

This should allow me to try a couple different techniques to see which method I like. I will have 2 SSCROG plants and 2 CCOB plants. 1 of each will be getting trained during early flower/stretch and the others will stay in veg a bit longer for me to train more. I can already tell I wll be using the cages and CCOB method as it seems to be a lot easier to train and should be easier to control my canopy with.

At that point I will have 6 plants in flower and I have a feeling the afghan is going to need at least an extra 5 to 10 days more than the 'one plant every 10 days' plan. This will give me more time, which I need growing from seed now, to veg and train the NWoW and PW before they get moved to flower. I think when the NWoW moves to flower I will start a 'one plant every 12 days', instead of every 10 days.

Here is the garden after all of that:

During this process you will have noticed that the KPS party cup was riding shotgun in a corner of the scrog screen. I couldn't help but feel bad for it when compared to my wonder woman seedling which is 8 or 9 days younger in veg but every bit as big as this 12/12 from seed.

I decided to repot to a #1 smart pot and transition back to veg 18/6. Chances of a hermie just went up 50% by going 12/12 from seed for a month and switching to veg?
