Hey Piratemccall,
I read through one of your other threads about: CO2 enrichment, your environment, goals, reservations about CO2, refrigeration/cooling, and ideas surrounding the whole endeavor. I have delved into solving similar problems and I have similar goals. If my understanding is correct, you would like an optimal environment without breaking your back or wallet. If I may, a few suggestions and possible solutions.
I use Inkbird temperature and humidity controllers. Here is the basic description. These can be located on Amazon or Ebay, etc.
Inkbird Combo Set Humidity Controller IHC200 + Temperature Controller ITC308, ITC306T, ITC310T
These are about $80.
I like these short cycle timers; they go for about $15.
NEARPOW - Timer Outlet, Nearpow Multifunctional Infinite Cycle Programmable Plug-in Digital Timer Switch With 3-prong Outlet for Appliances, Energy-saving Timer, 15A/1800W
Lastly, a 20lb Aluminum CO2 tank, about $120 delivered, but not filled. Filling - about $20 every 3-4 weeks, depending on your usage. (I grabbed two for convenience)
Luxfer = New 20 lb Aluminum CO2 Cylinder with Handle and New CGA320 Valve
and,
VIVOSUN Hydroponics CO2 Regulator Emitter System with Solenoid Valve Flowmeter for Grow Room Grow Tent Green House Aquarium,
about $40.
- SO, after about $300 invested, I set the timer to blast CO2 for ~ 5 seconds every few minutes. You can play with the ppm's/timing for your tent. I have a 10'x10' tent. If you want to know exactly, grab a CO2 meter. Here is a link to one model that I have owned, about $100:
Hydrofarm - Autopilot Desktop CO2 Monitor & Data Logger
You can plug the Solenoid into the timer, the timer into either or both the thermostat or humidity controller to dispense your CO2, or you could use the humidity controller to regulate your exhaust fan, etc. Dispense the CO2 only during light hours, or create a predawn bolus. I think you will find that you can customize your environment to your needs with a setup like this without the need for additional cooling.
I hope this helps,
