OrganiGram posts strain list, prices between $6-9 with shipping

I've lived all over "the prairies" my whole life and I've never paid 260+ an ounce, not once, ever. For top grade your looking at 180-210 usually, sometimes it might go to 220-240 depending how dry the area is. Anybody paying 260+ needs some better connections clearly.

Who said $260? I'm in Edmonton, and good luck trying to find even mid-grade here for only $200 an ounce......not happening. I grow my own medicine and don't have to deal with it, but I see what all my buddies are paying $220-240/ounce for, and it is nothing close to high grade. Obviously you have never lived or worked in a remote northern area of the country, as enormous prices are par for the course as you drive north in any province in Canada expect for BC.

Happens all the time actually. Just got to know people. You keep going to all those hacks down on Whyte or what?

Hahaha, nope.... haven't had to buy a gram in almost 10 years now, long-time medical grower and patient. I'm an older professional, and so are most of my friends. Sometimes, if you don't want to deal with sketchy areas or undesirable criminal elements you have to pay a little more. Again, I was just relaying what my friends pay to answer a question about market prices.

I don't have to buy my medicine, and don't really care if you have a better connection than I do or if he/she is cheaper. My home-grown will blow whatever they are selling out of the water, and it only costs me a few pennies a gram to grow it myself :)

but if LPs charge $5 a gram it's considered corporate evil.

It is corporate evil. The high prices from before were because of prohibition (risk vs reward), now that their product is "legitimized" (no risk) the pricing should reflect that. If you have LPs charging ABOVE black market you don't see something wrong with that?

Above black market would be one thing (unless the product was actually premium, unheard of quality).
Below black market but above home grown is exactly what I would expect.

I ain't arguing with this. I'm glad people around here can grow, I would myself if I wasn't fucked over by HC. I'm just saying you can find quality cannabis at a decent price almost anywhere if you look hard enough. You'd think at least one LP could get it right.

And yet here we are with LPs charging $8, $10, $12, $15 etc a gram. Even the compassion clubs are cheaper than most LPs right now, without all the added bullshit of waiting for patient registration and however long it takes them to mail your meds. Access continues to be an issue and the more HC tries to control things the more fucked up it becomes.

So it's fair to say these MMPRs are charging average market prices or quite a bit less. So if medical and black market growers had been charging these 'high prices' anyway, how does an argument that all of a sudden its a sin to charge 7 bucks a gram? I could think of many negative aspects of the system to criticism, but knocking them on pricing just makes one sound ingenuous.

Those prices are the extreme highs. There are also lower prices, compassion pricing, etc.
There will always be high-end product because there will always be high-end customers.
The average strain price is not over $10.

I've lived all over canada, and Edmonton has to be one of the worst cities in terms of black market price vs. quality. If you can find high-quality meds for the $200 or less here, I've got a lot of buddies that I'm sure would sure love to make your acquaintance, haha. :)

Most patients were growing their own or had a designated grower where costs were $0.35-2.00 a gram. Charging black market prices in a medical model is just wrong. Until health insurance covers the cost it's ridiculous to think patients are going to pay these artificially inflated prices.

arguing whether medication should be the same price as Black market prices is completely stupid, your trying to buy medication.....FFS it should always be cheaper than what you would buy off the street, this is a no brainer come on .... black market prices should be equal to LP's ???? Hell NO! LP's should be half of what BM prices are going for. like I said this should be a non issue for pricing, lower pricing because it's for patients not some asshole's grow op filling his pockets because it's not legal

Yeah blame it on all the rig pigs with too much money to spend. Sorry I can't help your friends now, I've become a favorite customer of the compassion club since becoming "legal". All my old connections moved away, but I'll keep my ear to the ground for ya ;)

Honestly a reasonably priced LP would be better than the black market coz I can get ounces of outdoor like 100-120, M39 140-150 and some quality kush is 170-200, so for the top end I'd rather get lab tested potent stuff rather than off the street

I was just kidding.....it would be nice if they'd find better connections though, maybe they wouldn't always be camped out in my living room and sticking their noses in my mason jars ;) Glad you've got a safe, reliable, and cost-effective source with the compassion club. In the end, that's what it's all about for any patient/user. :)
