Repubs know beating Hillary wont be easy, so its natural for them to say some non-contender is closing the gap and take the focus off her. I think its all part of some political game.

This still bugs me, too. My black friends are huge supporters- but this is a very white and affluent town, so opinions here tend to reflect the local conditions and not those nationwide.
