Nailed it!I think the whole barrel has been sour for a couple centuries now. Politics was never supposed to be a full blown career, it was supposed to be something people did because they wanted to do it, not because they could make a living off it. Its not my type of show, but House of Cards does a good job of laying out what is essentially a game that these crooks play for a living.
House of Cards was so great. Loved the British one but then most British shows/comedies get stolen by the US and reworked so even us Canadians can understand what the hell they are saying. lol
Both versions of Shameless were fantastic. I am more the Frank Gallagher in the British version but creepily close to William Macy's iteration of Frank in the US version. Better tits tho in the US version. I didn't realize there are more seasons than I thought on Showtime but I should be able to download them off the USENET with my NewsHosting account. Got the new Downton Abbey movie off there not long after it came out. Was good!. I also want to see the new Tom Hanks movie, Greyhound. My dad was a naval vet and got me a ride on a submarine when I was about 12 so I'm all over that action.
Totally correct about why a person should be allowed to be a politician. It should be a labour of love and not advancement. The Greeks had it right in the original version of democracy but then the US is a republic and not a true democracy. Two corrupt parties fighting it out every 4 years isn't sustainable. I believe the Democrats are more aligned with the people but not above corruption because of the same corporate influences that drive the Republicans. Our Canadian parties are very much the same but not as close to how much big companies run US directives.
All of them are working toward the 'New World Order' tho. Cashless society with total surveillance of every aspect of our lives. China is getting close to that now but the UK has had the most extensive CCTV coverage of it's citizens ever since CCTV was invented. Going on here big time with things like doorbell cameras that automatically link it to the local cops. You have to really work at it to opt out like smart meters they sneakily installed at my mom's old place in Peachland, BC when I was out there and expressly told them to fuck right off! Two weeks after I came back to 'Berta they snuck in and installed one. Now everybody has one and your second by second use of power is logged in data bases they gladly hand over to the cops without warrant in many cases. None of that BS here. My meter spins like a top and every 3 months somebody has to drive by and scan it from the highway in front of my place. All they get is usage per 3 month block and we use about 1800-2400kwh/mth @ 25¢ each. Ever since they privatized electric here about 21 years ago the price has gone up 8X. That's why I'm trying to get auto fems to work so I can grow the bulk of my pot outside for free and just play around with breeding indoors all winter and not have to run so much light.
Bed time for Bonzo
