Freakin nice job again man.
Love how u do this!
Hey, is that the Gunslinger above?
Greenpoint is on point hu?
Ordered seeds for the first time in my life today off the auction. Grabbed PeaceMaker. WIFI x .
There was no pic so I'm hoping for the best.
Thanks man, yeah thats the Gunslinger. Its a bit unruly to grow and a bit finicky with temps (likes it cooler than warmer) but the smoke is top top shelf. When I first smoked it, i was like fuck this is good shit then I gave some to a buddy who has been smoking daily for 30 years and he sent me a text that just said "cup winner" haha so yeah I reckon he liked it.

I have a few other GPS packs in the fridge but for now I am just cranking out this gunslinger as fast as I can :weed:

GPS can be a bit shady at times but there is fire in the Stardawg crosses thats for sure and I reckon out of a 10 pack you are pretty much guaranteed to find some really nice phenos. Havent seen many shots of that cross in the GPS thread so you should post some when you get to popping em.

Hey @Randomblame could you please confirm something for me?

I currently run 2 x Vero 29C per driver (attached). They are approx 70V @ 1400mA.

Am I able to run 4 cobs per driver if I run 2 series strings of 2 cobs wired in parallel? Or do I do 2 parallel strings of 2 cobs wired in series?

Am I right in remembering that we only add up the voltage of the cobs in series to see how many we can fit on the driver and when they are wired parallel they only count as 1 cob in terms of V? I havent looked at this in a couple of years so my memory is a bit hazy on parallel wiring. Because obviously 4 x 70V is too much for the max fV of this driver.

So instead of having 2 cobs @ 100W each I will have 4 cobs @ 50W each?

Friend of a friend of a friend got some Dr G's G13, reversed one and open pollinated the sisters. This is the first seed I have tried - great vigour and frost and nose but small buds. Got potential though and another 6 seeds to look through yet.

Yes, 2 parallel circuits will share the current at aprox 700mA each.

Yepp, that works!
Two is series would leave 39v of headroom! No probs here...
If you wire them 2s2p or 2p2s really makes no difference in the end its the same.
In series the voltage adds up and in parallel the current is divided.
So two in series means 2x 70v = 140v and two strings in parallel means 1,4A : 2 = 0,7A.
Each COB would run with 49w net. + 6‰ driver loss, so around 52w or 208w total.
But its probably the same like with the Meanswell's and you'll get slightly more so maybe up to 220w at the wall.

You could add two Vero29d, one to each string, to use the full driver potential. Maybe two 1750°k meat chips..
Each would run with ~25v cause they only need around 36v @700mA. You could also use pure deep-red china COB's or the so called full spectrum COB's. Not the same efficiency but pretty cheap. Such a 50w FS COb costs ~2$ each and gen2 has at least twice as much chips...Screenshot_20190126-143623.png

Lovely plants, btw! Thumbs up!

Just took some water temp readings (first time ever) and my cloner is 29C and my veg and flower res's are 27-28C. Never have any pathogen problems at these temps as long as I religiously does with H2o2 every few days.

Clones @ ~12 days. I added some veg nutes yesterday as these clones are ready too early and will need to stay put for another week.

What h2o2 are you using? The 30% or the 3%.
And how much are you dosing per litre or gallon?

Do you premix in water then dump it in your res?
Or just dump the h2o2 straight into the res between floods and circulate the res a bit?

My res temps are good now while ive got the girls on low light, but that will change soon when i flip, take lights to max intensity and the outside weather starts to warm up...

None of his specific questions were answered in post #1 o_O
"2x4 F&D tray with 100L res flooded every couple of hours with Canna Vega A&B, dosed with ~20ml 50% H2O2 every 3 days. Current keeper mums are a Dinafem OG Kush and Samsara seeds Sweet Black Angel (Black Domina x Super Silver Haze). Both loved by my circle."

So I'm taking from this:
He's using 50% H2O2
He has a 100L res.
20ml H2O2 every 3 days (.2ml per liter every 3 days)
I'm taking "dosed" as adding it to the res.
Brand is not stated

I'm just saying the post is very instructive. I've learned a lot from the details of his posts.

Oops...
Been so long since i was on page 1 in this thread that i forgot that info was there. Thanks for reminding me...

50% h2o2? Didnt know it came that powerful...
Would it be wise to dilute with ro water before dosing. Or just measure it out and dump the h2o2 straight in and circulate a bit?

Im on my first hydro run...

Good on ya for your first run and diving right in.
I grew a lot of tomatoes in DWC and F&D so I could learn and wouldn't stress when I'd toast 'em or kill 'em!
I can't get 50% either, just 29% H2O2 here.
So I double KLX's dose and just dump it right in the bubbling res.
I've also tried 6% bleach and Clear Rez.
Worth noting that bleach and H2O2 have a shelf life...I don't know about Clear Rez.

The H2O2 I get is sold as 50% but on the bottle it says 40-60%. I am not super precise when I dose, I have been doing it so long its second nature. 15ml - 20ml every 3 days into 100L tanks.

Dumping it straight in the res is fine but it can burn young plants (and old fingers) so I always do while pump is off.

Does it affect ph much?

I know my circ pump needz to be off when i check ph because the air bubbles make the ph probe jump all over... so was wondering if the volatility of h2o2 has any affect that way or with raising or lowering ph?

Not that I have noticed. I set my PH to around 5.6 when I top up tanks or add nutrient then it drifts up. My tap water is PH 7.0 so after topping off I usually need to lower it a few points again.

Yeah man, you turned me on to large clones. I'm doing a comparison using the ordinary sized ones... and yeah, the big ones behave more like large plants.
My mothers are big girls, all taller than me, so getting large clones isn't an issue. I remember having to wait for them to grow though, that was less fun.
I will take them down after I rooted the next batch to start fresh moms. As they were treated with a systemic.

But yeah, fuck vegging and fuck small clones.

Right on man, nice one. Yep, vegging just a waste of space that could be bloom as far as I am concerned. Most of the times I need to slow my mums down as I make sure I have more than I need to donate clones.
