Thanks for all the help this morning owl! I'm gonna head into town around lunchtime to go get the hardware i need and some white sealant for the wood. It's gonna be badass when done. Also going to get the wood for a second shelf... so that actually worked out well because i wasn't going to before for at least another couple of weeks...

So here's the current standings on the plants... I'm already disappointed in the amounts of boys, but I don't think there will be too many more.

So we got 2 boy Cheesequake, 1 boy apollo, and 2 boy Ace of spades... the apollo i'm sure is male (put it in the dark for a couple days and it showed for sure nuts)...

Lotsa pics... first of all, here's what putting a plant in the dark for 2-3 days if you think it's a boy will do... i was pretty sure but not 100% sure this one was a boy... so here are the preflowers before dark, and after:

No problem. Had a good time. :)

Now that I think of it, don't kill the AOS male... I have time to pollenate this little AOS girl over here, and have more beans for it..
F2's even, but it's more to work with!

Good point... gonna kill the apollo male unless you want it though as it's been in the dark 3 days i think so i don't want to push it on the flowers

Nice you got Rom7 -- that's the same one I had before (if it's from void's cuts). Speaking of which I got some rom seeds from some small buds void gave me a while back may pop'em soon and see if any sprout :) although it's just about getting too late to sprout any seedlings for this year.

Went back to the store... picked up the right nuts to go with those bolts (go on perfectly by hand no problem), a hand saw and a gallon of white barn paint :) i realized i probably shoulda had you rip those boards in half while you were here with the circular drill but i'll see if i can do it with the hand saw I only need to split one board to get what I need...

Didn't even think of the ripping. Sorry...
Haha, stupid nuts! At least you won't have trouble putting them on!

Yeah I have a few rom seeds too, same deal..

Yes these are all from the Vman. Need to get with him and see how the truck is going...

It's cool... i'm actually thinking maybe instead of one of those boards ripped in half i should just put a 1/2" wood dowel/metal rebar through the front support... would solve the shelf length compared to front support issue and how to put the front support on easily... just drill two holes for each shelf and stick that sucker in :)

yup but no luck.... big stores only have 4'... i emailed a rebar supplier yesterday but no response and forgot to call today... need to get those shelves up, so will probably go with the original plan

Isn't there a hollow, wooden dowel connector? Maybe a price of piping that has an inner diameter the same as the outer diameter of the dowel? I would think that would work, kind of like how a PVC connector works...

Snap... didn't think of pipe... pipe should work just fine and i can get it from home depot/lowes... good thinking!! wish it was earlier so i could stop by the store more easily... won't be able to go til tomorrow... so may have to make a run in the morning i'm planning on calling in hooky from work tomorrow (or at least calling in to work from home) -- just thinking of my excuse :) i'm thinking a home repair issue

Hooah! Went and got 1/2 inch PVC this morning and a 3/4" drill bit... really had to work those holes for the pvc to get in but it worked and they're snug not loose... drilled holes for shelves and have now moved it into the grow room and am just taking a quick break before I go screwing the shelves on for good and painting it. Plants doing pretty good but I think maybe my pH pen is fucked I see a lot of small signs of pH flux and i'm having to re calibrate it every time i water now after dropping it a couple times...

Sucks.. Maybe the dropsies are the real bane of the stoners existence!

Glad the PVC works!

Missing a little work I see..

Water pH definitely is... i definitely see it in the plants anytime i don't get it right.

I'm working from home... not getting a ton of work done though :) my work excuse takes care of that though ;) anyway, the first shelf is done except for painting!! I went ahead and put the plants on there for now... will probably paint tomorrow or something... gotta rehang all the lights after the 600w comes tonight... definitely flipping the switch for flower next week. The seedlings are almost up to needing nutes... seeing a few petioles starting to yellow. I'm gonna start transplanting them to their final pots in the next day or two...

Don't need you to come by today as I didn't get the stuff to get the next shelf (wanted to finish one before committing to another) -- it is pretty much exactly what i hoped for, except it might be better with rebar for the dowel -- the PVC is fine but does bend with weight.. it's in tight and won't come out but it's gonna warp and I'm afraid to put 3-5 gallon pots on it wet :) The shelf was really meant for 1-2 gallons though so i'll probably stick with those on the shelves and then leave the 3-5 gallons on the ground surrounding the light where there aren't shelves. It's already looking really nice! I gotta find a place to move my seedling cab though the other shelf has to go where it is.

Will be posting pics and probably a vid later.

Up for helping with another shelf this weekend? We should be able to knock this one out quick I'm sure after the last one.

Yeah, Sunday eve would be best though.. Gonna have my kiddo this weekend, so I could stop by after dropping her off.

But I'm down! Just let me know if that's a good timeframe..

Not sure how well sunday night'll work due to the noise + daughter :) She didn't wake up with all that noise before but if she's awake she'll be all up in what i'm doing :) Monday morning early?

The HPS is going!!! It's bright yellow like the sun in there. I put it on the super lumens setting (for extra digital output) which is supposed to put it up to around the 660-690 watt range... also i didn't realize it came with a 400w & a 600w bulb, so i have a 600w bulb for backup now and 3 400ws :)

I still have to adjust the height of the light and the distance to the plants (it's pretty high at the moment). The temp already went up (to 70 ;) ) so will be keeping an eye on temps tonight to see how much it builds up... if it doesn't get too hot during daylight it'll definitely be fine at night (gets cold as shit in there)... i'm thinking when i switch to 12/12 i'll adjust the light schedule so it's dark late night when it's coldest to bring out the pretty colors :)

All the LEDs down at the moment until I rearrange... will probably add the LEDs tomorrow after I see how heat is today.
