War

Cut off the money and tighten up on the tech they can get as much as possible. They use turbines in power stations too...

China wants to sell EVs, batteries, solar panels and lots of other shit to the world and doesn't need the trouble. The weaker the Russians are the easier it will be to take their far eastern and pacific coast republics by helping them to become independent etc.

Personally, I don't see Russia rising in 3 years or even a decade, but I'm not the one responsible for European security. If the republicans were to win and Trump return, things could change radically for them and the risk with the new republicans might be a decade long from their perspective. If Trump ends up in prison and Biden is elected with a democratic congress Russia is done, they might as well pack up and leave after election day. They will be down for a long time with America, Europe and others actively trying to keep them down while the global market for petroleum crashes over the next decade and Europe becomes militarily strong and energy independent. China could pick on Russia all they want as far as Europe and America are concerned and if they want to hang onto their pacific east coast, they might have to focus more there in the future. If Vlad thinks Alaska should be Russian again, or Ukraine, I'm sure China thinks Vladivostok that they lost in 1870 should be returned to them too. If other republics in the region went independent (with Chinese support) then anything becomes possible... There is a Russian threat to Europe, but there is a rich imperialistic China at its weak backdoor too and they are eager to do business with Europe.

Russia's air transport fleet is deteriorating at a rapid pace and being attired by war, and it only has a couple of rail lines through Siberia with many vulnerable rail bridges across big rivers. There is a highway now, but it uses bridges too and there is a growing truck shortage there with spare parts and tires scarce. Even if they could land a regiment of paratroopers in a troublesome eastern republic, cars could be placed on runways to prevent planes from landing. It wouldn't take much effort to cut them off from European Russia and there are groups in several of those republics that might try, with some clandestine support. By the time the Russian military crawls out of Ukraine in defeat, there might not be much of it left and rebuilding it in a corrupt kleptocracy under sanctions with no money will be difficult.

These guys want to rearm their military? Maybe get the heat on an and keep the lights burning first. This is a corrupt kleptocracy where society itself is falling apart as law and order break down and people burn buildings to the ground and steal everything, they can get their hands on. No loss the entire heating system is fucked anyway after freezing and many of the buildings are fucked too.

I wonder if its happening with their oil pipelines too. The war drove up the price of scrap steel I'll bet, since so much was lost in Ukraine and this might be the result, the dismantling of the country! Rail tracks can weigh over 30 kilos a foot!

My guess is the Ukrainians were using GPS to get close to the target and then using a cellphone connection to FPV the rest of the way to the target. They were doing this in the RC world years ago with a cell data dongle and using it to control a plane through the cellphone network, you can find YouTube videos online on how to do it and demo flights.

Ukraine never ceases to amaze at their resilience to continually find outside the box solutions to continue being a thorn in Putin's side,on Feb 22,2022 who'd have wagered that almost 2 yrs. later; over 80% of the forces possessed by Russia pre-invasion would be KIA,thousands of armored vehicles trashed, significant #'s of combat aircraft lost, the flagship of the Black Sea fleet and approx. 1/2 of remaining vessels sunk, not to mention the assymetrical warfare Ukraine has managed to conduct, w/ surprising, audacious attacks on Russian infrastructure ,think Vlad would want a do-over??

Considering they did it on a shoestring with just in time arms deliveries makes it even more impressive and a real bargain with a lot of stuff that was going surplus anyway. Considering they had one hand tied behind their backs and looking at what they destroyed, no wonder Europe wants to fight them on their doorstep instead of their own by giving arms and support as the Ukrainians remove Europe's only real military threat for a decade. If they can beat the shit out of Russia under these conditions, why wouldn't they earn a place in NATO?
