World Of Hempy

Is high humidity a problem with hempy grows? Whether it be veg or bloom? If so I may have to go get a de-humidifier instead lmao. Atm i'm not to concerned as I will have a 4x4 with a powerful 6" extractor and the 600 is in a cooltube (be upgrading to a 6" blockbuster, soon as I can afford it). Fresh air is constant. Be the reason i was having problems with my clones. Winter here is always super dry. Plus the electric baseboard heating that I have no control over. My fans run 24/7. Will find out soon if I will have issues the other way lol.
Humidity isn't an issue for me. Not one little bit. You'll be fine im sure.

I dont live in a hot or arid place (I wish) but never had an issue with powerdy mildew.

I did get some budrot on my Violator Kush run, but that was due to misting whilst my plants were budding.

Earlier Jella asked about if my 1st rum coco had led to obvious enhancements. And yes it feels like there is an improvement over perlite. But now I have to throw in some conditions. The best thing I did in the current grow was to check my overflow. This lead directly to my stopping the use of ph down in my feed water. I think this is probably a bigger impact than the coco. Now I have to run my tried and true soil-ponics and monitor the run-off, to see how the ph runs.

Next run I'm going to use 3 different bucket set-ups; (all 3.5gal with chunky perlite up to the hole)
1) Original all perlite with a 2" soil cap.
2) Coco coir (like current)
3) Coco chunk and coir mix heavy on the chunk thinking 1/3 coir 2/3 chunk

...just for shits and giggles, try one with hydroton or grorocks in the bottom, i personally hated working with the perlite and switched almost a year ago and i love the extra weight they give to the bottom of the pots, they're much more stable, plus, clean-up is a snap, i just scoop out the majority of the coco and then just dump the remaining coco and hydroton/grorocks onto a sifting screen, the loose coco falls through and the hydroton/coco and large roots remain for storage and disposal, respectively.

Just purchased one of these half price . .. Its a 'Draper' 1000W Wet & Dry Vac with a 10L capacity. ... I'll keep it in my growroom for general cleaning up leaves and for sucking the run-off water from my Hempy tubs. ..... Looks great and with the sale price, it costs about the same as a small pump. .... Oh and its cordless or mains.

EDIT:
Looking at it again it doesn't seem to be cordless, guess i'll find out tomorrow.

Chopped my tall plant so I could rearrange the tent. Things are more inline now. My first hempy is looking great, I think Im overwatering it. It hasnt started to show stress yet though. We'll see!

yeah man, once your roots hit the res it's almost impossible to over-water a hempy, ...i have done it but it has only happened when i had to put some vegging plants out in the kitchen for a few days while i waited for space to open up, because they were getting such a limited amount of light, just enough so they wouldn't go into flower, they were kinda in stasis so didn't drink like they would have if they'd been under proper lighting.

...once my girls go into flower i water and feed every day.

Well thats good to know! Being that Im using 100% perlite I was afraid it wasnt going to hold water up top much. Its such a fine grain perlite like I mentioned though it does appear to be wicking the moisture all the way up. I dug a little in the top of the pot and it was wet so Im gonna just keep going how I am for now, but I do think I can go a day in between if I need to :)

Looking very tidy Supchaka.

Have you considered attaching some 'fins' to the side of your cooltube to direct more light down?

It came with the fins and looking at them, and where the bulb sat in the tube in relation to the reflector in there it just seemed like more of a gimmick accessory. I've ended up using the tube way longer than I intended as well, Im looking to get a bigger tent and a different hood. I hate having to have the light off and take the bulb out to clean the glass.

...high man, before you throw down on another hood you should take the time to read this thread, for me at least, it changed my life.

I know a few vertical growers, all the way back to heath robinsons setup. Jig and D are both vert, I dunno Ive thought about it, but thats about as far as Ive got :) I definitely need a new tent regardless as the one Ive been using is only 4x2 and 5' tall. The height is the biggest killer.

...try vertical bro, you'll put the SuperSun in the closet, lol.

It would be difficult to cool a 400/600 watt bulb free hanging in my 3x3 tent. I like the idea that its all spaced out and works great from a light distance perspective, but I just don't have the space to go vertical at this time.

...please don't take offense but i beg to differ, i can link you to a grow in a similar space where the guy was using 2 stacked 400s, barebulb, ...he has since upgraded to a 600 over a 400.

and really, i'm not suggesting that you are in any way doing things wrong now, i'm only suggesting that you do in fact have the space.

...lol, shit man, here's that link, just in case.

Blumats, vert, n' dirt

Im not ready for vert myself but what Im thinking of doing is vert hanging a couple of 125W CFL's in my growroom as supplemental lighting and to mix up the spectrum a bit.

Anyone have any experience with Koolbloom dry mix? I have been using the liquid for a little bit now but have no experience with dry mix supplements... Just picked up a bag of the dry today
