So you guys mean to tell me that all i need is base nutrients. Like like micro grow and bloom for three part or a and b for two parts. (Not sure on 1 parts). But if i just use the base nutes I can grow bomb dope? Really? I don't need any other shit at all? I thought the additives were good tho for certain things like root growth, etc.. I just picked a starter kit and that's the shit that came with it. Saved me on finding individual pots or grow bags, soilless mix, and figuring out all the nutes on my own. It just seemed easier. And it had everything you needed. Why I was gunna try canna. Hmmm

You guys make me think too much. :wall:
Lol you'll be less scatter brain after you've had a few grows under your belt. So yea just use the base nutes til you get familiar with things and then if you want you can opt for the additives. If you just throw everything at it how will you know what works and what's bs?

Canna is a good product, I don't use it cause its too expensive and I have been using GH for some time now and only reason I steer away from GH is because the local shop gives me new stuff to trial for feedback.

Don't over think it, its not really that hard to keep things on a very simple level, then slowly add to your attack. Additives do work for the most part, but some more than others and others don't make a dramatic difference at all. The thing with additives is that the marketing department will throw some fancy label on it and make public claims that it will increase your yields by up to 10-20%...ignore that shit, the marketing department gets a % cut of the sales, so of course they are gonna feed you a load of shit to get you to buy it. AN is the worst at marketing traps, don't get me wrong AN does work and it works well, but the labels and names on the bottles are a part of their marketing lurer. Additives more or less help, accelerate, or assist your base nutrients to some degree, they don't actually make your plant bigger that is pretty much the job of N-P-K

So, yes you can grow some really nice buds on just base nutrients alone. I personally only use CalMag, Superthrive, Diamond Nectar (for a Humic Acid), Molassas if I grow in coco or Flora Nectar if I am DWC....so these things at the appropriate stages and the GH flora 3 part series as base nutrients.......I will say I am about to use GH Rapidstart as I got given a bottle for a trial

You will be happy that you chose 600's over 1000's. Not only will your electric bill thank you, but you plants will thank you too. I noticed you said you have 7.5' ceilings. 1000's are just too strong with such low ceilings. I'm not saying it cant be done but when 1000's are that close to your plants, you need to feed them a ton extra or they will yellow MUCH quicker. Perhaps after you get some decent experience, then you might be able to get away with 1000's in such a short room but I started out with 1000's in a 7.5' room and regretted it for a long time until I finally got it all figured out. 600's on the other hand are PERFECT for such ceiling heights.

After thinking long and hard I have decided to go with a gorrila tent 5×9 feet. 2 600 watt lumatek digital ballasts with easy cool hoods 8 inch flange. Hortilux 600 hps 4 bloom. Sunmaster cool deluxe 600 mh 4 veg. Can fan with carbon filter. 12 site bubble flow buckets (ebb n flow and bubble buckets combined) Yes a pro hydro system. Not a DIY system. I took your guys advice on that at least. resevoir water cooler to keep my water temps right. I thought about it and this is what I want to do and feel comfortable doing. Hate all you want but I've made up my mind and noone is changing that now. This is what I wanna do and what I'm gunna do. My friends all grow hydro and are willing to help me out. So that's why I fell comfortable doing it this way. If im wrong and regret it later I'll apologize. But i think I'll get decent results. Long as it's cheaper to grow than buying it on the street or dispensary I'll be happy. :) I took a little bit of advice from each of you but made up my own grow how i want to do it. Thanks for your help and I'll keep you guys updated once I'm set up and growing. Might see ya guys around in the meantime on the forum. Peace

Quite sad that the piece of advice you take is the worst advice. DIY system is much better, cheaper, and building it teaches you exactly how it works. I'm sad anyone would recommend buying a DWC system over building one.

I mean if you are a total dumbass then maybe you should buy one, but otherwise it's so easy there is no reason not to build one.

When I was a salesman I would always tell my customers "hey at the end of the day it's going to be your tv/computer/audio system so get what YOU want not what someone tries to sell you on"

So no hating bro, we were all giving suggestions.

Sometimes you just gotta jump in feet first.

Be confident in your decision and commit to it.

Again good luck and I hope the best for you. Keep us posted on your progress and if you do need any help don't hesitate to ask.

Take it easy, peace out

Make a cheap system and get root rot? How is that good advice? Everyone tells me something different. I'd rather do it my way. Im not listening to anyone any more. My money, my grow, my investment. I do what I want.
There are some assholes on this site don't be one of them homie. You're right it is your $$ and your grow but a little humility goes a long way. Keep your chin up and don't let some of this stuff get to you.

Edit: @nomofatum this was not aimed at you.

Thanks Gary. I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and waste my money on something I didn't want or something that wasn't good. After 2 months of research I'm ready to begin the journey.

LOL! I think you made a wise choice myself. Dro ain't hard if you use the right stuff. Just don't overfeed and stay on top of your temps and PH. I Just like easy and cheap. Man I think you will be happy with a pro set up instead of some DIY duct taped up looking junk. lol :bigjoint: some peeps think a roll of duct tape and a container means they are engineers or some shit.

mate no one held a gun to your head and told you to do something, everyone was putting in their input from their growing experiences. Your original post was real arrogant and people see that shit on forums and roll their eyes and make smart arse comments. You then became the better man and decided to feed on others advice and laugh off the dickheads. Now it seems you have gone back into your ways of your original post. From what I have read on these 8 pages, there have been a good handful just giving you direction and trying to help you not fall into the hands of disappoinment.

And your money your choice is 100% correct, but also there is buyer beware shit out there as well, stuff that is a gimmick and does more harm than good and better off building a DIY system than paying someone for your failures (not saying you will fail or that the equipment you are choosing to buy will fail). But then there are some people that should not touch a screw driver and better off buying something off the shelf.

Now for the rest of you people that read Nicksol's original post and immediately replies with your numbers game BS, I suggest you stop being lazy and read the whole thing before you chime in on his post. If you had you would have seen he had made a flip in attitude, but no you were too keen to be seen and heard that you had to jump the reads to get on the end. Its people like this that scare people away from forums and refuse to ask questions later on if they run into difficulties

LOL! Sometimes I go to the DIY thread just for a good laugh. My fav was the one where the guy cut two holes in the top of a cooler, one for a fan to blow into, the other a larger 90 degree piece of PC pipe maybe 4 or 6 inches. Theory is put ice in it and turn the fan on its a homemade air conditioner! I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes! :bigjoint:
