During the Cuban missile crisis Kennedy asked a lot of questions about the process of dealing with soviet ships running the blockade. He was concerned about potential of escalation due to a misunderstanding or accident. Once he heard warning shots being fired across the bow was part of the process, he communicated directly with ship commanders on the scene. There were to be no shots fired of any kind unless ordered by him personally. These are the times where you hope the pilots have steel balls, dangerous tit for tat sabre rattling easily leadsto miscalculation, miscalculation leads to a FOX1 being fired, gloves off accidently then what?
some things should be micromanaged.
