Have you seen this guy? Seems dialed in.
Hmmm… can’t argue with his results but I don’t know how he gets away with 5 gallon pots. I was sketchy about possibly getting root bound using 10 gallon fabric pots given I planted 1st week of June. Maybe he started them later but theres no denying those are some gorgeous ladies! That tub/tray/pot setup kinda mimics my indoor grows, but I use plant dollies to keep them off the floor instead of flipped storage containers. I also love the privacy he gets in that yard… sweet!3ED3C545-CD68-444F-AB07-6F8AE71B17C4.jpeg

When you’re distracted and not paying attention, you do dumb shit. As in topping your nice Sholgar female because you thought it was the male…‍♂View attachment 5169353 View attachment 5169354

Still have half of her, so there’s that…
Ok… I’ll bite! Lol So what was topping a male going to accomplish anyway? Btw… been there done that with stoopid moves while intoxicated. Gotta keep telling myself to stay away after tossing down a couple or bad things happen! Lol :D

I am collecting pollen off of him for a selective seed run on the girls. I was going to take the top half as that was where the bananas were maturing fastest, leaving the lower branches as a reserve until they fleshed out more.

I think the problem was actually that I hadn’t consumed anything beforehand lol

Ahh, looks like we are all multiple substance cross addicted supersonic idiotic mental cases from outer spaces.
I like the green, the vodka, the cigarettes, done worse but made it out on the other side. If that's the worst mistake you make this month, you're blessed!

Got it!! Lol ;) I’d like to entertain breeding but just haven’t got there yet as to what that really entails, but it’s in the future plans. Cheers (glasses clash) and Good luck!:D

It's funny you say that. I grow some reedonkulous sized plants in 5 gallon Buckets. I do have holes in said Buckets, and it's possible roots tap the earth. The strength of the plant is that its a weed. Could probably grow out of a Crack in a rock. People talk about being rootbound, but have you ever pulled a plant up by the roots that's been cut? Late in winter or spring? The rootballs of some big plants are not that big....
That being said, I am seeing more roots this year than before. I abuse the shit outta my plants where many coddle them. I've plants that scream for more dirt, I forget to water them.
Oh yea, <just smoked gimee a break > I wanted to point this out.
So I forgot to water the plants, it rained a little, but no where near what they required. By stressing them a little, I swear they kicked into a stretch, and grew like 7" on a few days.
Ok, so in drifting, that's my que.

I read his video description and he is using a full line of hydro nutes. My guess is he is using Promix or some other soilless mix in drain to waste.

I switched to a full salts grow a few years ago and noticed I could grow plants in about half the media. The only downside for an outdoor grow is you gotta be on top of the watering constantly.

If I get motivated, I might set up irrigation with a nutrient injector for next year's grow.
For now, since I only have four plants mixing in a 33 gallon barrel with a pump suits me fine.

It’s not rocket science (or I wouldn’t be doing it lol). You just need to take branches off the males, stick them in water overhanging a mirror, wait until the flowers open up, and scrape up the pollen using certain razor blade skills you may have developed at some point in your life. Put it in a pill bottle with a couple of silica packs and it’ll keep in the freezer for at least a year.

To make seeds, just carefully dab it onto female flowers about 2 or 3 weeks into flowering with an artist’s brush. I do it a couple more times about five days apart. Use low branches on calm days to avoid spillage you don’t want.

And that’s about it!

Okay, so while many others are coddling their plants, I just manhandled the shit out of my garden. Not sure if I was pissed about finding rot on my last great hope Jack auto. But I defoliated, moved plants, spread branches out, re-bent and retied down several plants. Garden looks like absolute shit right now. I couldn't be happier.
I have bent both my super skunk late starts right over to start lst, actually more like HST, lol. Found a male kush mint ill try and get some pollen from. Excited about that. Tree fell on my hot tub, gonna be fun clearing. Fucking bittersweet is a pain in the ass.
So my plan is to spray the Jack Herer auto with h202 for a couple days and then pull it.
My take on autos is this: Compared to my comfort zone, fuck them. Too much of a pain in the ass, too little work/reward ratio, too susceptible to rot outdoors, just doesn't seem worth it. The only way I'd do it again, is if I 1.Started indoors in March, do LST, put them out end of May and hope they finish before rot sets in. Jack Herer, Grape Stomped x 3 Bears, and Creme dead la Chem are NOT good to grow in New England, unless you wanna use chemicals, which I do not.
In short, its like a hand job on prom night, as opposed to a righteous piece of pussy or even a standard blow job.
Beta patch grow, Blue Dream garden, on the other hand, is exactly that. A friggin dream. No bugs, borers, critters, healthy and about 6' across the board. Only issue there might be rippers, but tools are in place..
Alpha patch has some healing to do, ill probably feed them tonight out of abuse guilt. Last fed the 17th. However, has shown great growth spurt across the garden. Last note, growing big ass plants in 5 gallon buckets? I did move one and a big tap root snapped that had grown thru the holes in the bottom. So they do tap the earth, probably why they get so big. And that's been my day. Peace and be well.

But is anyone using mono-silicic acid in waterings and/or foliar application as a preventative to PM?

Anyone?
I have been using Grosilic monosilic acid. I use it mostly for plant health, but have read about it working for PM. It has a high PH which is supposed to prevent PM from taking hold. My thoughts are that if it also improves the plant strength and health the plant should be less susceptible to PM also. I have been foliar spraying and now that the plants are going into flower I will Drench with it.

I am just friggin broken. I thought my Alpha patch was full of a wide variety of beautiful strains and all female. I was going to have so much fun seeing what worked well. I can't remember this happening with 6's before...
My beautiful wife. Nudges me and says soothingly, 'baby this happens every year.' She's right you know. Cheesequake, sunny days, gone. Survivors so far, waziri, superbud, putang, and I dunno. Don't wanna deal.
Did cut the top off one to put in water to see if I can get pollen.
Ugh.
