if the fed govnt came in and said you are not to use your car anymore what would you do? slavery would of eventually fadded away as technology progressed.
and not all whites owned slaves. the war was fought for one reason, the same reason for every single war in history, ECONOMICS. if the south had it their way, the north would of had to go to outside sources for food, clothes, etc.
in a republic, the minority still has rights and can not be taken away by the majority, and im sure this is what the south was feeling. when you feel your rights are being taken away, you fight.
a lot of the north sympathized with the south and even fought for them. the union just did what it this country does best, take over and distribute.

OMG did you really say slavery would have just faded out...and every single war is not over economics..some wars start due to religion, territory etc etc...your view of history is flawed

I said slavery in the USA. My other comment was also 100% accurate .... I said there is more slavery today GLOBALLY than at the time of the US Civil War.

Well speaking from a Black/Brown mans point of view I don't believe slavery would have just faded out in the South. I even find it somewhat insulting that a white/pink man would tell me that.. Had it not been for the Civil War slavery would have grew...Faded out never...Fought out yes !!!!!! Just in my lifetime you still had folks making others drink from separate water fountains and such and this was 100 years after the so called ending of slavery..so please forgive me when I say that I don't believe NOR TRUST that it would have just faded out....

Now far as War you do have a point about economics, but I would disagree when you say wars are one and the same with roots in financial gain...with territories ( ask a Palestinian )...With religion ( ask a Muslim )..ask anyone of these and your answer would have very little to do with financial gain..
