How does one get into the treadmill business?
the treadmill business has its intricacies.
here, the health and medical benefits of treadmills are well known and accepted. just visit a qualified medical person (qualified as defined by the state) 3 times within the last 3 years to document your condition which requires treadmill exercise. take documentation of those three visits required to establish your treadmill need to the local specialty qualified medical person (qualified as defined by the state) who will scribble "treadmills may help" on a piece of paper for $200. take that chickenscratch paper to the state, give them another $200, and they will give you a treadmill usage license!
the best part is that they will also give you a treadmill production license which allows you to have 24 treadmills in repair mode, 72 treadmills in disrepair mode, and 1.5 pounds of usable treadmill parts. you are allowed to accept reimbursement for "supplies and utilities" relating to your treadmill production.
now, i would not suggest just counting on breaking in to the treadmill business with no previous experience. before you scan accept reimbursement for a treadmill, you need to have run on that treadmill for a long time and be convinced of its worthiness. you need to build the best treadmill that you have ever ran on before you start considering venturing into the grader treadmill business.
once you have devoted a few years of your life to the treadmill apprenticeship, learning exactly how to make those treadmills operate efficiently, you can venture into the high end treadmill market. but it takes time.
once you have a treadmill, you have to tweak it. make sure it runs right. then, for 50-75 days, you need to let that treadmill run in a circle before you can harvest it for parts. that is a long time to wait! a wise treadmill vendor will try his best to perpetuate a cycle of treadmills and harvested treadmill parts.
now, keep in mind that treadmills are prone to lots of predators and enemies: little treadmill mites which slow your treadmill down, treadmills need an environmentally controlled area to avoid excess heat and cold, treadmill rot can sneak in if treadmills are left outdoors in late summer without proper ventilation and maintenance, and treadmill thieves may try to take what's yours.
if you can ward off all these treadmill enemies and have the know-how to build and repair treadmills and the patience to test run them in circles (12 hours on, 12 hours off) for several months and the state certified treadmill patients to reimburse you, you can carve a niche in the treadmill biz.
