I've used pepper powder to keep animals out of garbage as well. Worked pretty good for my malamute/wolf mix and he was a stubborn one for sure.

i wear a fitted cap, ecko, LRG, enyce and such name brands, i have tattoos on my neck and arms, i wear jeans that are a better fitting than skin tight, and i make rap music once ina while.... does that make me a wanna be? nope far from it even though im a white man with a black penis.... still not a wanna be :) lmfao u loose this argument a million times HOMMIE! :P

I have been in my garage with a big raccoon, only the regular door open not the overhead. It saw me and went for the door because it was the quickest
route for escape.
Coons would rather not fight something that is a monster in size compared to it. They want to escape.

For crying out load, people scare away bears making noise. For the most part an encounter with a bear that wants to fight is rare. Why would a raccoon
that is a fraction of the size really want to stand up and fight if it didn't have to.

Don't corner it, otherwise you could be in some trouble.
