You dont have to build a vault, you can use a safe instead. You can get a large enough safe to store 50kg. Roughly the size of large double door fridge" but where denied as soon as HC saw they didnt have a Lab on site to conduct tests on the cannabis."
I highly doubt that that was the reason. HC biggest concern is security, our biggest hurdle is a secure storage area. According to the controlled substance act the value of cannabis is $10,000 per kilo http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hc-ps/pubs/precurs/dealers-distrib/phys_securit_directive/index-eng.php appendix B. Say your storing 50kg or 100lbs at a time the value of the meds would be $500,000, requiring a security level of 6 or 7 you will need to construct a vault. We're talking a full size walk in bank vault. Talk about ridicules, just one more hoop to jump through.

The vault sounds intimidating, but when you break it down it is really just a concrete room with rebar and a serious security system. At the end of the day it is not that big a deal compared to many of the other requirements. We contemplated a safe, but it seems too small so we are planning for a walk in vault. You will have to stuff 7 of these tubs in a fridge? You ever priced an extra large burglar proof underwriter listed safe?

Actually, I have priced such a safe. I found they were still cheaper than a vault built to specs. Thats a new safe too.You will have to stuff 7 of these tubs in a fridge? You ever priced an extra large burglar proof underwriter listed safe?

Just need to make sure the used safe is ulc-tl-15 rated, or better.I would look online for used safes my friend found one 7'x7'x4'wide for like $1000 but he had to remove it witch cost him another few hundred but it was well worth it, it was used to store mink coats and other expensive coats anyways people don't want to remove them when they close there business so thats were I would look, business going out of business even places that sell safes sometimes have used ones for way cheaper
I have received official quotes from almost all and they are no where near the least expensive. Just email the MMPR and request a list of authorized labs. They will get back to you within a couple days.Interesting, thx for the info. Have you looked into any of them as far as pricing goes? Just wondering which of the HC approved labs are the least expensive.
Can someone just post that authorized labs list here?
That's saying you have enough financing. The banks I've spoken to don't want in yet, unless somebody knows different please let me know. The biggest hurdle to overcome is finding a location then dealing with zoning. Everything else is relatively easy. Where I live there are many empty warehouses and industrial space, but the owners want nothing to do with cannabis production.
I myself am quickly losing faith this is possible to do as a small business.
Which banks have you spoken to if you don't mind me asking? That's saying you have enough financing. The banks I've spoken to don't want in yet, unless somebody knows different please let me know.
To my financial advisor at TD and he talked to his regional manager which in turn spoke to corporate. After finding that out he directed me to ATB because apparently their lending criteria is one of the lowest, most easy going for lending at least what I was told. I have up on banks because they are all very alike.Which banks have you spoken to if you don't mind me asking?
That is not a sufficient sample size based on the European, British, or international pharmacopoeia (schedule B documents that must be followed). Perhaps there is another schedule B document where that is acceptable, but this is fairly standard from what I have seen. I'm sure that 50g is more than enough to do the analysis from the labs perspective, but you need to follow specific sampling procedures to ensure it accurately represents the batch. This is a good example of why HC requires a QA person that is familiar with these documents, and why it would be better to have an internal QAP rather than relying on a third party lab. Also I just heard back from a testing company and was told 30-50 grams and about $1000.
