    My First Outdoor NW

Hello guys. The weather has been great these past couple of weeks here in Washington. I am glad to see some local fellows.

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

Crud, so I'm under the impression that my plants will grow roughly the same as they did last year. Maybe five years down the line I will have a noticeable difference in yield? If I can make a seed adapted to my climate, I feel like this is something that could really help my state. Especially...

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

Thank god I actually took Anthropology in college, haha! Genetic drift does not result in adaptation, but rather the continuation of whatever is left after part of the specimens are destroyed for one reason or another. I am referring to the plants adapting to be better suited to the outdoor...

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

My apologies then, I don't want to come off as a bad guy either, haha. Referring to your earlier comment how you said you didn't think one generation would be enough to cause much of a change, do you know this from experience? Or are you inferring that any genetic mutation will take several...

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

One of the seeds turned out to be a male, I kept him growing because I wanted my plants to propagate.

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

Trust me, brother, the underlining wasn't my desired way of posting that. My PC must be f***ing up or something, because it will not let me change that. I've tried multiple times now. With that out of the way, you can go take your dog and post useless replies elsewhere.

Cool trichome pic but is it ready for chop?

Looks like all your pistils have turned amber, so that's a good sign. I've read from multiple threads on Rollitup that it is not the trichomes in the leaves (or even sugar leaves) that you want to be checking. It is the trichomes on the actual bud. That being said, you will have to force a few...

    Question About Second Generation Seeds

Hello, Rollitup, it has been a little while since I have lurked these boards and contributed my handful of posts, but it is getting really close to that time of year for my growing season to begin up here in the Pacific Northwest. I completed my first grow last year, harvesting a quarter pound...

135 days since 12/12 flip... Extremely long vegged... Too long? Overdue?

As long as you do not stop loving her, the time you invested into her will be worth it. That is true with all women- plant and human alike. Just keep her happy and healthy and she will keep you toasty and wealthy, hahahaha.

My bud's potency just isn't there

I feel like OP cut too early. I am under the impression that trichomes were forming throughout those nine weeks, but developing very slowly. I recently chopped a plant after 16 weeks of flowering even though the buds looked frosty and beautiful after the 9th week. I say a good way to identify...

    rained on!

I have also treated bud-rot in the past by cutting out the infected area(s) and it seemed to work just fine. So to the OP I would say don't worry too much about losing your harvest, but you still want to be diligent on keeping your ladies as happy and healthy as they can be.

What drove your decision to grow?

I have been smoking weed very frequently for the past few years. I also did very well in school and would consider myself an intelligent guy. With that combination I figured I was capable of bringing a plant up to harvest. I did, after spending days researching mediums, lights, techniques and...

57 days of flower, bagseed, how long till harvest? pics included!

I would say two or three more weeks until harvest day. This is a serious guess as to when you should expect to be done.

    Early outdoor forced flowering

Here are some pictures of where I am at right now: The first two are plants that I forced to flower early, they were about a foot when I started the flowering cycle and they grew up to about two feet (One month Veg./~1.5 month flower) The third is the plant that I have not moved inside. I've...

    Purple stems only

I've gotten purple stems on a plant before and from my experience if there are no other symptoms and the only thing going on is your stems are turning purple then you should be good.

    How long to veg?

If it is a indica clone that is already a foot tall, then yeah, let it get nice and strong for a month or so. I only have seed experience, it may be different, my bad.

    How long to veg?

I personally go by the height of the plant. If it is an indica strain I will switch over to 12/12 once it reaches a foot tall, if it is a Sativa strain I will switch over when it is a little over two feet tall. Keep in mind that this is with limited stretch. You could also decide when to flower...

    How do the buds form?

The pistils, those little white hairs (that turn ember as they mature), grow out of the calyxes. You will notice after a month or so that there is a green, almost tear-shaped calyx swelling at the base of the pistils. That is how buds form.

I will no longer trim before hanging..for real try it...way better...

I am a little less than a month away from my first harvest and for the last few months I intended to cut off branches and trim before drying. But then this thread came along and convinced me that I should try out some whole-plant drying as well. I've gotten varied phenotypes from this batch of...
