    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

Yeah, it works OK. If I were to do it again I’d use 3/4” EMT conduit and a bender instead of the makeshift assortment of materials I had on hand. But hey, all I paid was the cost of the greenhouse tarp (which is really poor quality by the way… not impressed).

    Off-season autos for hash making?

Hey, everyone. I’ve never grown an auto, but I’m intrigued - mostly just because I love growing cannabis and growing some autos would allow me to have an outdoor garden going for more of the year (without messing with supplemental lighting pr light dep). I’m kindof picky about the quality of...

    Mix BT w/ Potassium Bicarbonate?

This “spinosad soap” is labeled for powdery mildew and other pests. Never used it, so can’t comment. It just popped up in search. https://www.gardenvarietyorganics.com/products/spinosad-soap-rtu-32-fl-oz-by-natural-guard

    Delay flowering with supplemental lighting

Nice! I’ve been considering this, too. We still get a lot of nice (and free!!!) sunshine in November and December here in California. I’ve been thinking that might be a great time to grow a few plants exclusively for hash making since the buds might not be quite as well developed as a summer...

    Wasn't going to ask this...

Regarding those drooping leaves… I’m my opinion that pot is WAY too small for the plant it’s supporting (as you suspected). I suspect the drooping is due to a cramped rootball that’s having a hard time keeping up with the water demands of all that foliage, regardless of how often you water...

    Lets See Your Outside Plants

Here are a few shots of my little late-start organic garden here in Northern California - Vemom OG and Purple Gas MAC from dispensary clones.

    Brainstorming a feeding/watering solution…

I like to add things like compost teas, alfalfa tea, silica, molasses, etc, from time to time - especially this go around since I didn’t have time to build a proper nutrient-loaded soil like I usually do. I’m supplementing with some liquid nutrients (Earth Juice and some fish hydrolysate). I’m...

    Brainstorming a gravity-fed feeding/watering system.

What’s up, everyone? My back is pretty jacked… I can carefully lift and move heavy things when needed, but for some reason repetitive standing and squatting tasks like feeding my plants really hurt after a while. My garden is small, so right now feeding it involves prepping a couple/few five...

    Brainstorming a feeding/watering solution…

A fully draining tank like this would probably work nice, and it would allow me to chase the solution with a little rinse water to keep things clean. https://m.plastic-mart.com/product/10068/oklahoma-city-infd30-24

DIY Airlift/Vortex Compost Tea Brewer (5-gal)

Vortex Brewer Version 2.0 is up and running. :) I had some redwood scrap left over from a project so I whipped up a sturdy brewer stand this time instead of cutting up a milk crate.

Powdery Mildew? If so, is the entire plant gone? Can I cook with it?

Get yourself a jewelers loupe or a handheld microscope and it will be very easy to tell the difference between trichomes (you know what they look like…) and powdery mildew (looks like a layer or web of fuzzy filaments). Unfortunately, I agree with the others who said that bud has PM and bud rot.

    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

Haha! I’m just keeping my expectations in check so I get a nice surprise at harvest time. But yes, these little clones are giving it all they’ve got despite the late start! This size plant is pretty easy to manage - might have to do a late run next season, too!
