    Friend or Foe?

Not sure what that flying insect is, but looks like you might have thrips based on the irregular white spots on your leaves.

Best strains for Northern California outdoor?

Nice…. I was born in Sonoma, raised out here near Graton.

Best strains for Northern California outdoor?

Thanks, guys. I’m in the warmer (but not hottest) portion of West County - out near the town of Graton, if you’re familiar with the area (about 15 miles inland). We do get some fog, but nothing like the coastal areas. I’ll definitely see what CSI has to offer. Are Subcool seeds still a thing...

Best strains for Northern California outdoor?

Right on. Yield really isn’t a big concern for me, but quality definitely is. If I’m able to grow a handful of small/medium plants to maturity I’ll have plenty of bud to keep me and my fam happy for a while. I’ll have to check out that thread you linked. Another reason I’m opting for a variety...

Best strains for Northern California outdoor?

Nice looking plants! It’s less soggy and foggy up here, and I don’t have any neighbor or ripper concerns (neighbors on both sides also grow, and I have a big dog!). We definitely get some morning dew, but we don’t have days on end of fog like you do in SF. (I grew up in Sonoma County, but...

Best strains for Northern California outdoor?

Hey, everyone. I’m just doing a little daydreaming, plotting, and scheming for next years outdoor season here in West Sonoma County… I’d like to grow a few Sativa-dom, a few hybrids, and a few Indica-dom from seed. I don’t want to grow monsters - more like small to mid-sized plants in, say...

    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…. so I gathered some materials I had on hand and whipped up a rain and morning dew deflector that easily rolls up when it’s not needed. No mildew or rot for me, please…

Anyone have a “Grow More” brand greenhouse?

Haha! Probably true… Yes. I’m just planning ahead. (Although I may try some auto seeds over winter just for fun and hash making.)

Anyone have a “Grow More” brand greenhouse?

Nice setup! Fortunately (or unfortunately, given the wildfire situation here in California…) we don’t really get any rain until winter hits. Also, I work from home for the most part so I’d be able to run out and close vents if needed.

Anyone have a “Grow More” brand greenhouse?

Thanks for the reply. Some good food for thought. I figured if I go with a greenhouse kit like that I’d probably construct a perimeter foundation of cinder blocks/concrete to raise the whole thing up a foot or two, like you were saying. Also, I would likely go for the extension, making it a...

Finally a flower September 03 can we make it or is it impossible to stop the rot!

She definitely looks hungry. I’d fertilize ASAP before leaves start dropping.

Anyone have a “Grow More” brand greenhouse?

I had been planning to build my own small greenhouse, but a nice kit starts to sound appealing when I think about how much tinkering time I actually for the project.. Do any of you have a Grow More brand greenhouse like the one linked below...

Brainstorming ideas for a small greenhouse…

Any other ideas? I’d love to hear any recommendations for “ready made” greenhouses, too, so Ieither consider buying one or copy their ideas. Ha!

    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

We have a LOT of apples… I plan to try making cider next season, but don’t have the time (or equipment) for this crop.

You mean the other forum? I guess I could move it there - just figured it was more of an Outdoor discussion.

    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

Meant to mention… The goal of these experiments is to dial in an outdoor method that matches my personal needs and desires. I assume it will take the shape of an adaptable/adjustable greenhouse of some sort. * QUALITY over quantity * Small footprint and not an eye sore (10’ by 15’ or so) *...

    SpicySativa’s Outdoor Experiments

What’s up, everyone? I figured I might as well start a grow log to document my experiments and experiences in the great outdoors (AKA my back yard). This is my first “legitimate” outdoor garden, but I’ve got a fair amount of experience with small-scale indoor organic grows (search my name and...

Seeking advice on a late season garden (Northern CA)

Yeah, probably bigger than they need, but I think they’ll appreciate it. I reuse my soil, so it won’t go to waste.

    1st time putting in-ground; Question-

You might consider gently “opening up” your plant where the branches are tightly packed, then support the branches with some mesh trellis.
