Help me pick my 4x4 light! $350 to spend

Amazon is selling the XS1500 Pro for $99...BUT there is a 20% off coupon to clip and then another 9% which brings the price of each of them down to somewhere around $71 something. These lights are some of the most highly-rated lights ever by MIGRO, btw. It sounds like you already have a desire...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Would this machine allow me to harvest just the upper colas, first, and then keep the rest of the lower portion of the plant growing? If so, then this would greatly cut down on larf by allowing the otherwise underripe buds more time to catch up and ripen. I've always harvested the entire plant...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Where do the volatile substances go as they off-gas inside the cooler? Are they filtered out with some kind of charcoal deal? Or, does running one of these in a basement end up smelling up the entire house? And does this also happen every time the door is opened?

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

They just need to lower the price and they will sell a bunch of them. The same thing used to happen all the time with new lights. They were all super overpriced. But, the technology was new at that time. This is just a humidity controlled fridge, so it shouldn't be too long before someone makes...

Is it really "soil"? (FFOF, ETC.)?

I actually DID also do a slurry test, too, and it confirmed the runoff test. I extracted some soil from the inner portion of the root ball via, mixed it with distilled water and allowed it to settle. Then I drew off some of the clear water and tested it....almost identical to the runoff test. pH...

Is it really "soil"? (FFOF, ETC.)?

Well, I'm sure there are endless things that I could have done differently. Next year, I'm going to try out Dr. Bruce Bugbee's soil mix.

Is it really "soil"? (FFOF, ETC.)?

*just having some coffee and thinking.... There are lots of stories on this website, in regards to "What's wrong with my plants?" And much of the time, they post pictures of leaves that have some spots on them...."CALCIUM DEFICIENCY!"....Or, pictures of plants with red stems...."MAGNESIUM!" But...

Is it really "soil"? (FFOF, ETC.)?

I'm not sure, either! All I know is that there was no deficiency when the plants started to display signs of deficiencies. I then checked the pH in the only way I could -with my GH drops. I'm not a believer in "NO RUNOFF CHECKING" because by checking the runoff and finding the pH to be that low...

Is it really "soil"? (FFOF, ETC.)?

On this latest run, I started out with the same mix as I have been using forever -with FFOF and FFHF with some amendments...BUT, I ran into a serious pH issue and ended up having to flush and leach the mix in order to get the pH back on point. After that, I realized that I had basically...

    Chernobyl

I'm growing the Slymer from Bob Bitchen's, too. I had a bit of a grower error blip at the start, but now they are growing really well. I've got two clearly distinct phenotypes....One is a very wispy, thin leafed cultivar that absolutely leans towards sativa morphology. The other phenotype is a...

Is a grow worthwhile for personal use

I'll say that, YES, it's worth it. Why? Because you not only get to supply yourself, you also get to learn a new skill that will ALWAYS come in handy, i.e., growing your own (anything). If you're like most of us small timer/personal-use growers, then you get to experiment with ALL kinds of...

    Mysterious necrotic spots

You may be right. I know there's an awful lot of new nutrients and concentrated stuff that I haven't ever tried. I'm kind of unfamiliar with a lot of these nutrient lines and amendments. They weren't available to me when I started to grow weed, so I never experienced any of them. But, yeah, I...

    Mysterious necrotic spots

I've never done a run with Pro mix. I know it's a popular base. I'll probably try it one day. I use FFOF, FFHF, Coco Loco, Perlite, Rice hulls, Worm castings, some Good Earth general purpose organic ferts with a few TBSPs of dolomite lime and some bio-char. BUT....on this last run I started...

Final Review : Vipar Spectra XS1500Pro LED grow Light

Thanks for posting the pics and responding. Your setup looks really cool! I just checked my light again. This time, I laid some pieces of cardboard over all the other diodes to see if, in fact, these two diodes were even lighting at all. It seems they are indeed lighting, but they are SO dim...
