    i think if it were my grow space i'd fit a platform around the 4ft mark with chicken wire, and do a split level SOG..that way you can maximise the space and they can share the lighting..altho the bottom layer will def need additional lighting.

    you might find they grow to around 60cm anyhoo.. most plants double, some will poss even triple their size during flowering.. If height is gonna be a problem, i'd do a lil bit of LST before you set to flowering.. You should be able to get them tied down <20cm in overall height...just be careful...

    have you got any way of moving it out away from the light?? so the plant will lean in, toward the light as it grows??? that might get ya a coupla extra inches of growth... youre kinda limited to what you can do tieing it down...if youre careful you could poss use lst style tieing to pull it...

    yes youre correct... to get the most from cfls they ideally need to be laying horizontally..as the emit most of their light from the sides, but it looks like he has sockets with a built in reflector that position the bulb vertically and If they were tweaked sideways i doubt itd make too much...

    yeah.. theyre good for supplementary lighting to lower branches and the sides of plants.. even then i would fashion a reflec outta something to throw as much light to the plant as poss.
