    How difficult is hydro?

I agree. I'm working on getting everything all set up. Next thing I need to narrow down would be how many plants should I have. Thinking somewhere between 4-6 but its a tough call because 6 would cost a fair amount more than 4. and I dont want overcrowding issues because im only running a 600...

    A special needs hood?

I have very specific needs for my hood. I need a hood that has removable glass, with 6 inch holes available for PUNCHOUT. Meaning I need them to remain intact until I decide to punch them out. (I'm only interested in using a single hole) preferably a medium size, but I know im already being...

What are the best soils to use?!

In my opinion, avoid bagged "all in one" soils. This includes soils such as roots organics, as well as Fox farm. The reason these aren't preferred are as follows; I have never gotten a pre mixed bag of soil that didn't have bugs in it. This is a big deal. Bugs are not only very obnoxious, but...

    How difficult is hydro?

I gotcha. I was looking into the direction of a DWC. using buckets of bubbling water to allow constant access to a recirculating feeding solution. From what I understand these systems have the fastest growth. Technically speaking, I suppose what im doing at the moment could be considered hydro...

    How difficult is hydro?

from what I found googling, (which wasn't much) hempy buckets are just a slightly modified container with coco. Isn't that just growing soilless. I dont quite understand.

    How difficult is hydro?

holy cow. thats a lot of grass. my first 2 soil grows had a lot of ph and lockout issues. so thats probably what most of it was. along with my inexperience. my current soilless grow seems to be going much better. i'll know more about the numbers in about 3 weeks.

    How difficult is hydro?

So can either of you tell me, at what point do you allow the roots to grow into the water? Also, how many plants might be prefered at 600watts? I have 9 in my soilless and I think it's too many. I'm only pulling about 6 ounces or so off the 9 :(

Wanting to set up a DWC

So you put hose fittings on the button, put a hose fitting on the nearest sink and top them off that way? Also, at what point do you allow the roots to make contact with your solution?

Wanting to set up a DWC

I'm getting ready to start setting up a non circulating DWC. But I have quite a few questions and finding answers can be tough. I'm working with a single 600 watt light, and plan to do a bit of topping. How many plants would be best? I was thinking 4 or 6. what size net pot should I use? I...

    How difficult is hydro?

Actually yeah. Check my post right above yours for a couple of questions. Also, does a chiller help If I'm not recirculating? If so, how would that work? I think I'm going to go with water coolers and add a bottle of frozen if necessary edit: also, can anyone suggest a number of plants? I've...

    How difficult is hydro?

Thanks for all the info. Another thing I couldn't find is people talk about letting the water sit an inch below the roots when they are small, at what point do you let the roots grow into the water?

    How difficult is hydro?

Can I ask what makes you say that its easier? from everything ive read its more complicated. plants react harsher, mistakes are more dire and develop faster. Chillers i can get past by using coolers. but i would need to keep up on sterilization otherwise im sure i would have root issues. But I...

The Official Dwc Cooler Club - Any Kind of Cooler Res

Im looking to get into DWC, but I have a few questions. If I just did a simple "nothing special" coolers. is it better to do standalone coolers like 5 gallon cooler per plant, or is it better to do larger long coolers with 2 plants per cooler? also, I have a concern. Everything says to change...

    How difficult is hydro?

Can anyone tell me if something like this would be good to start? https://www.monstergardens.com/Hydroponic-Supplies/Hydroponic-Systems/Deep-Water-Culture-DWC/Root-Spa-5-Gal-4-Bucket-system seems like a good price if i didn't feel like doing a DIY

    How difficult is hydro?

So i've been doing a bit more googling, this stuff is tough to find good info about. but everything says to change out your reservoir water once per week. How do you do that without disturbing the plant? Keep a spare bucket and just swap it over and clean it? I suppose you need a good ppm meter...

    How difficult is hydro?

Igloo coolers eh? Sounds expensive. Is it common to run less plants in hydro than non? I have 9 plants under a single 600watt and im pushing it a little bit as it is. edit: also, does anyone know of a good website for a simple DWC setup so I can check it out. sifting through google links and...

    How difficult is hydro?

while i know almost nothing about hydro, isn't 15-18c super cold? Just looked that up and according to google thats 54-64F. I assume you would need some sort of chiller to keep water that cold. In the summer room can get as hot as 82 :(
