i used that ballast with a ss2 hood with no problem. just take the wiring off of at the hood end and wire onto the new hood.

Dont wait until the stems snap to put it into the jars, or maybe you just didnt keep the jars sealed long enough before opening them for the first burp.

i think its better to cure in a smaller size jar if you only have a half o, unless it fills the jar atleast 75% of the way.

Ive been using one of the $119 htg ballasts for about 4 years now with no problems. Ive been using it with a cmh bulb for about 2 years now with no problems.

Id check out the trichs before you start giving them just water, and its 2011 now :)
