Germinating the seeds isn't very complicated. You can do it many different ways and they'll most likely come out fine. You may see signs of germination in a day or two. Sometimes it takes longer.

Yep. Some people keep their girls in veg for a long time, growing them nice and tall/thick. Then, around mid-april, they transport them outside for the rest of the process. The final product is huuuge.

Just give 'em time. How long has it been? Sometimes it can take 10+ days for sprouts to poke their heads out.

When you have the plant in 'veg' this means that you have more than 12 hours of light on it a day. Preferrably ~18 hours on and ~6 hours off. When you switch to 12 on and 12 off the plant starts to flower. The flowering process is what creates the buds. :joint:

Yeah you can use CFLs/flouros to veg a mother. As for the light requirements, use the search function!

What kind of lights are you using? It sounds like they are too warm.. Can you take a picture of your setup?

I don't know for sure, but I don't see how using them either way could hurt.

I think purpling of young plants leaves is normal. If it stays purple after a few weeks then you might have a problem.

I Agree with ILoveUMaryJane. You should rig a little computer fan in a side of the box at least.

I was pondering the very same thing not too long ago. From what I read up on northern lights is a very good beginner grow. Supposed to be able to take a lot of stress. That means you can learn from your mistakes without worrying (as much) about your babies dying out. Not to mention Northern...

I'm not exactly a pro grower or anything, but I think the plant needs more of certain nutes at different points in the growing process. You know, for root growth, stem strength, flowering, etc. What kind of soil are you using? If it has time released nutrients in it I think that's bad. At least...

you should do a cheap stealth grow until summer and then plant it outside! just buy some CFLs to veg with until like mid april or some shit.

Yeah, I would have went with foxfarm but there isn't anywhere to get it nearby. Didn't feel like buying online and the MG Organic soil was pretty cheap.
