How close are your lights to the plant? What kind of lights are you using? Could be some form of dreading, but I've never seen it like that before. Check to make sure that your lights aren't coming on during the dark cycle for an hour or so. I don't think it has to do with the nutrients.

It's probably gnats. They get into compost if it is sealed. I've had them in mine before too, I just threw it outside. Didn't want gnats inside. They are attracted by very wet soggy soil, just like a sealed compost. They are a bitch to get rid of. Sand will help, but the best thing to do is let...

I grew in a sealed environment for a couple years with great results. My yeilds were always plenty with fat dank crystal buds.

How do you feel about not only doing your technique of topping, but also supercropping plants (sativas, mainly) to keep them short as well? I only have 5'3" of vertical room (which doesn't include room for lights, filter, & exhaust fan), and I want to grow some sativas in it.
