Agreed. Roots are most important! When they're little like that, that's probably one of the biggest mistakes people make, over watering and or watering too often. Letting them dry out makes them dig deeper in search of water.

For transplanting, I use 1/4 tsp of Superthrive/gal, water with it the day before you transplant, and water them in with it the day of. Often, they'll never miss a lick!
