A 4" 170CFM fan should be plenty with that light and space. I leave mine on constantly for two reasons: 1) plants need fresh air because they perspire a lot at night and 2) without the fan going, odor seeps from the grow area. You can run the fan how you want but that is what works for me.

Exactly. Any sort of resistance in the duct (ie carbon filter) and those fans are completely worthless. They can't take any sort of backpressure and they aren't that powerful to begin with. They are a good cheap intake fan but I wouldn't use them to move any substantial amount of air...

Check out Homebox seconds from bghydro.com. I got my 5x5x8' Homebox XL for $150 shipped because the inside isn't as super bright white as they should be. You probably couldn't even tell the difference walking into my tent...looks plenty white to me. I'm sure you could find a bigger, cheaper...
