Sterile Flood and Drain, compatible nutrients.

The reason behind using only salts is that anything that is an organic molecule, the peroxide will attack, break down and then you are left with nothing to oxidize your pathogens which is what you were after in the first place.

    RDWC and LEDs: Various strains

Here is a picture of the first grow configuration. I originally just had one plugged in, and the other one ran for redundancy to the same tubing. Ended up running both 24/7. The short sections of tubing quieted them down...marginally at best. Ecoplus was simply the cheapest option at the time...

    RDWC and LEDs: Various strains

Yeah, but FWIW my first grow was done with two 25$ ecoplus 18w commercial pumps. Havent been able to do better, believe it or not....still have those pumps as backup. The upside to using cheap pumps is when one dies, which it will it can be easily replaced. You can just buy a couple extra just...

    RDWC and LEDs: Various strains

Yeah but those are flow rates under no load, so speak. Once you start adding tubing and stones, the average output is around that stated barring any long tubing runs ect.. There are flow charts the manufacturer should provide which show this, similar to a waterpump. Those types of pumps are...

    RDWC and LEDs: Various strains

Those models are named after flow rate. 100 LPM = AP100 ect.

    PH, EC, and TDS meters

Honestly you can use whatever scale you want as long as you get comfortable with taking readings and what that number means to you and your plants. Bluelabs work. I like the combo meters because you can just leave the probes submerged, walk out and press a button to get your readings.

    Beneficial Bacteria in Hydroponics

I brewed up a tea with that recipe you read about everywhere. Fungi, bacteria, ewc castings....bubble 48hrs ect... For like 35-50 bucks in materials and a little effort, it will last you a long time. For my 20 gallon rdwc I would use 100ml of this tea every few days. Maybe a cup or two of it...

    Mammoth p microbes

Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is Hydroguard so yes. I think it used to have those same three but the newer formula is just B.A.

Stinky murky white water only when added nutrients

Get some Oregonism XL off amazon. Its the same as whats in hydroguard and more. Only use a tiny, tiny pinch at a time if you get it. Like a grain of rice sized chunk.

Hydroponic baby plant doing even worse :(

Yeah. What I described and Airwalker's chart are exactly the same. Airwalker actually gave me that same chart when I started, which is why I say you will find success with it. Yup you nailed it pretty well. Don't be so set on TDS meaning it can be a little off in one direction or the other...

Hydroponic baby plant doing even worse :(

Awesome. Keep it simple. Post some pics of the roots and stuff if you have some time.

Hydroponic baby plant doing even worse :(

Its because you are trying to grow with all these weird fringe solutions aka aquarium water and potassium tablets. Dump the aquarium water immediately and never again water any plant with it. Hide the potassium tablets. R.O/Distilled. GH Three Part. Calmag. Calmag your RO to 100ppm@/.5 scale...

    Rdwc troubleshooting

When using that O-Ring, do you have problems with it squishing out the side? Since it does not have a "groove"?

    My New RDWC Journal

I kind of figured CO. Same here. Pretty good! Thanks for asking. I took down my tent for the summer as my garage is a multi-purpose space (lol) and I need to work on the house and cars. Its a PITA not being able to open the garage. I usually fire it back up in fall. I have some seeds called...

    pH and EC both dropping

Whenever I saw big EC drops like that during transition, my PH was sure to be doing something similar. Like RKY said, if you dont have root problems just manage your PH best you can for now. In my uneducated mind, when I saw big PH DROPS I figured the plant was just using more P,K.

    New to dwc

I went from tap to RO and had to use a shit ton of calmag all the time after the switch. If I didnt, I saw droopy leaves, curling/brown tips and slow growth. The plants looked "tired" so to speak. Like fragile said, calmag your water to 150-200ppm, add in another 150 or so of nutes and then...

Bane of hydroponics, root rot help

oh man roots+50ppm chlorine = dead plants. I did that once but it was too much peroxide. The roots disappeared lol. EWC tea is the white slime slayer. You are on the right track with the trichoderma. Brew that in conjunction with your HG or SAG or whatever BA product you are using. Think of...

Root rot + Southern AG, recovering? and nitrogen deficiency

Think of it like metallica, "fight fungi with fungi".

Root rot + Southern AG, recovering? and nitrogen deficiency

"Oregonism XL". If you read the label it contains the bacteria both hydroguard and southern AG have, plus the fungi trichoderma harazaium and trichoderma koningii. It takes VERY little to make a tea with it. You can buy the concentrated fungi separate, in something like "Bioworks". As much as I...
