CRI and ANSI White bin questions

I wouldn't go as far as to call the excess red/far red waste in the 93cri. Matching the McCree Curve isn't the only goal with or lighting. We are growing plants that adapt to what we give them in our artificial environments. I would like to try a couple of the higher cri and see the difference...

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

This is an ab bin 80cri vs a y2 bin 93cri. Cutter carries the 3000k in the bd bin for each right now

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

Would you be able to run tests on the cxb-3590 3000k 80 cri and the 90 cri that you carry? I would be interested to see how the spectrum compares within the same bin.

    Automatic Watering System

Maybe. Most tap water is around there but big particles cab block the small drip line especially where the sensor pinches it

What is the best light to use for growing?

I grow on a micro scale 11"x20"x29". I started with cfls and battled heat and disappointment for awhile. I upgraded to a 70w hps and ended up with the same airy buds. I upgraded again to a 100w cmh but it was always to hot and I wanted more headroom. I finally settled on a custom built led that...

Choice for usable LED lights under $150?

If you spend a little more now you won't need to replace the cheap Chinese light halfway through flower when you find it doesn't work worth a crap. Check out tasty led or any of the manufacturers using cree or vero cobs. Worth the upfront cost

Good cheap LED lights for 2x2 grow room?

Lumens are measured in a sphere to collect the light from all angles. They use domes on household leds to acheive good lumen numbers but when you remove the dome you get very intense directional light compared to cfls. This allows led bulbs with lower output to actually put more light on the...

how does dimming work in relation to efficiency and drive current?

I understand what watts are (volts x amps) and how to measure them. Constant current drivers with dimming adjust the current (amps) while allowing the voltage to "float". The cobs start out around 34 volts and will increase in voltage as the current goes up. Please edit or delete your "advice"...

how does dimming work in relation to efficiency and drive current?

I ask because when I dim my B model meanwell the Kill-a-watt shows it pulling less watts from the wall. This contradicts what you are saying

how does dimming work in relation to efficiency and drive current?

Are you sure the potentiometer wastes off energy? Are you talking about putting the potentiometer on the dimming wires or the led leads?

how does dimming work in relation to efficiency and drive current?

Setup A well be very similar to setup B when dimmed down but allows you to run at higher currents if desired. There may be a small efficiency penalty for not maxing out the driver but it won't be much. No need for two drivers. The forward voltage changes as the current changes. Check the data...

Good cheap LED lights for 2x2 grow room?

Look into the led household bulbs if you are already setup for cfls. You can buy some decent 9w 2700k for a buck a piece on sale or 6 packs for 10 dollars. If you remove the domes the lights are very directional and won't need reflectors. The larger 16-22w bulbs are more expensive but also more...

    Where do I start?

Start with a couple of supras threads and then start checking out builds by others and daydream about how all that can apply to your situation. I am a fan of mounting the heatsink into the ceiling of the grow area when heat is a concern. This will remove most of the heat without using the...

    LED advice please

In a 2x3 I would look into three cobs driven off the hlg-120 meanwell driver at 1400ma. This will give you up to 150 watts to use and can be set up to dim as well

    Beginner Stealth Grow

I wouldn't use an intake fan if you are using a carbon filter. You would be better off with two exhaust fans if you need more airflow. Using an intake fan can create positive air pressure inside the pc and air/smell will leak out of any tiny gaps. Using only exhaust will create negative pressure...
