The lower the temp the higher the lumens. I would add a couple fans and sleep well knowing that if they ever fail it won't be a problem.

First grow - Stealth cab Led - Northern Lights

I never worry much about the bottom leaves. It does look like she is responding well to the 1/4 strength nutes. Have you looked into "mainlining" as a training method? Four main colas would fill your space very well. I also grow micro in a 20"x11"x29" space. I have found it is just enough space...

The reality of LEDs for a larger grow

If you have a little electrical knowledge you could add diy cob leds in a little at a time. Maybe start with some 3 cob bars on each side and drop the 600w then add a couple more bars and drop the 1000w and add back the 600w. You'll know when you hit the sweet spot for the plants and the power bill

Changing the shape of the grow space to better collect/conserve the light?

The light sphere that catches the photons is not the reflector you guys are describing. To replicate the light sphere you need to change the surface that is catching the light (the plants) and train them stadium style to reach up around the edges and grab the light that would be hitting the...

Questions about Diy led fixtures and ebay cobs

Sounds like a good plan. If you end up upgrading later you will have wasted every dime spent on it though. Why not buy a little vero at a time until you hit your end goal?

New to LED looking for assistance designing a light

You could also leave them at 6-8" and dim them a little. I'm running at 4-6" and 42w, although I'm getting a little bleaching too.

Could be bad wire as well. If the wire was stretched at anytime it could have broke inside the casing. Time for a continuity check.

Those are different reds (730nm far red) for lights out. If you run them all day it has been said to induce stretch.

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

I understand it uses that light more efficiently but I still don't get why you call any light outside the curve a loss. Does the plant reject that light or adapt to its environment and use it?

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

I am having a hard time understanding what you mean by losses to the McCree Curve. Does the plant disregard these photons or just use them anyways?

Aquarium led light for making seeds?

Just use it as it is. The plant will be ably to use the light even if it's not the perfect spectrum for flowering. I have seen great flowering results posted by growers using mh the whole way and they were frosty as hell. If it's bright enough to grow coral its probably bright enough to make...

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

Would the spectrum chart found on the data sheet showing relative power be fairly accurate if comparing 80cri and 90cri if they were the same bin?

CRI and ANSI White bin questions

I didn't imply anything about the 80cri. I think mixing both cri variations of 3000k might be my next route. I was just saying the McCree Curve isn't a hard rule. It is what the plant is most efficient at using but the plants don't disregard extra light when it doesn't match the curve exactly...
