Which brand root stimulant.. Atami B*Cuzz OR Green Fuse?

Rock wool like any other cloning medium is simply there to hold moisture and give the roots something soft to grow in. Aslong as the water isn't too acidic(5.5 for me is a little low.. I'd want between 6-7 personally) you should be fine, just make sure the plant stays moist, check on it in a...

Which brand root stimulant.. Atami B*Cuzz OR Green Fuse?

Root stimulants contain IBA(indole-3-butyric acid) a type of auxin or plant hormone that induces root growth, rockwool conditioners are more to maintain PH for the seedling to grow. Two different things

    Water Question.

Ok, so since I've started my grow I have been collecting as much rain water as I possibly mannage (something like 20 gallons in reserve). Now the question is this. I tested the PH of the rain water today, just to compare it to what my tap water is, so I can see how much of a difference there...

Why do plants produce Buds anyway?

The buds are the sites where seeds will form if pollen is collected. The resin, which contains THC, is there to make the pistils sticky to hold onto the pollen. This is my understanding any ways. We then selectively bred the plants that made the most resin and tada, big sticky plants that make...

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

Depends, 13W is around 800, 23W is around 1600, goes up from there. Put them as close as you can without it getting too hot on your plants, 2" or so if you have enough fans. For reflectivity you can get emergency blankets at walmart, or even the dollar store for next to nothing.

    tall skinny seedlings....need help please

The intensity of light dissipates in a sphere (that is to say pi x radius cubed)... in more general terms the farther the plant is from the light source the less photons (packets of light) it receives to turn into energy, thus the plant "reaches" up towards the light in this way to so it can...

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

CFL's have balasts built into them already. Buy 2 4 packs of the 23W Daylight CFL's, some wire and some sockets... if you can do some basic wiring it's not that hard. If your doing tubes it's a bit more work, because then you need to wire up the ballasts.

starting new grow, advice on medium

The thing with just peat moss is that there is really not much organic matter in it, it's good for airation and water retention, but you definitely want to get some kind of compost in that mix, and maybe some worm castings if you can find them. My mix that I've been using is 30% Cow manure...

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

The clorophyll pigments can only utilize cetian frequencies of light effectivly to make energy, around 450nm(blue/uv), and around 700nm(red). CFL's (daylight and soft white respectively) put out a lot of their light around this area of the spectrum.

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

If you turn all the lights off in the area how much escapes from your cabinet/grow area? This is a good indication of how much light might be escaping and thus not contributing to growth. Like I said too, you need to think of color - brown will absorb both red and blue spectrum, which means less...

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

The one thing I notice immediately is the area you are growing in does not reflect light well at all, all that wood color simply absorbs light you want getting to your plant. Either paint it mat white or line it with something. Secondly the intensity of the light from a florescent light drops...

First indica grow. Need some useful tips

That plant is really tiny for 50 days.. the plants in the avi are 27 days and indica's(under 230W of CFL's).. this is how they should look. Looks like you need a lot more light in your grow room, or a closer light and more enclosed space.

    Root-bound plant flowering

Yes, transplant now... or make a bunch of clones and start them going is your other option. If your going to transplant, make sure to rinse the roots out, and try to open the root ball up a bunch - with a razor you can make some cutting into them like you would if you were topping your plant...

Learning the Ropes - First Grow.

Well, today is day 27 of veg for the young ones, things are looking really, really, really good - it makes me think I'm really getting the hang of this growing thing. :) Pretty much all the clones have rooted really well now - the ones from the top of the plant have developed particularly...

Learning the Ropes - First Grow.

Was down at the garden shop today and picked up a soil test kit, as I was curious. Ran all the tests out, and here were the results. PH: Pretty much right on color for neutral. N: Sky high. P: Registered right about 3/4 of the way up the color scale. K: Same as P. So, all I'm still worried...

Learning the Ropes - First Grow.

Today is an exciting day for me. 1) Because my plants look amazing and bushy! 2) I prodded at the smallest of my clones today and got it out of the peat pellet.. and, CRAZY ROOTS A BLOOMIN! I'm not sure if I should put them in soil now, or wait until I can actually see the roots coming out of...

Bunch of pictures from today: The clones: The rest of the gang: This one is getting nice and bushy, lots of bud sites growing. The smaller two Purple branches? Last but not least. When I see the clones looking really good, their going in soil for 7-14 days then flower, I...
