The idea is since the hormone that causes flowering is destroyed by light that this will somehow cause your plant to flower sooner. Haven't tried it, just been doing a straight switch over(18/6 to 12/12 as mentioned above) and had flowers/pistils showing in a week, no issues.

The color of the Trics has more to do with the THC converting to other cannaboids, you really can't see the color of the trics with your eyes, only if the calyx is there. You should be able to get a 24x magnifying glass for a couple quid, that will do the trick, otherwise your just guessing.

Things are moving a long nicely. I've rigged myself a tiny little clone/veg box, and my clones seem to have taken some roots in the floral foam I used, still not sure how I like it compared to the peat pellets I used previously, but as long as they root I'm happy. The buds are fattening up...

That seems really high, I run 250W of CFL's and some fans and my bill on all that is like $8 a month.

sockets and wire are a lot cheaper than lamps.

being entirely honest, to even manage to harvest anything from that you are going to require a lot more lights, and a far more confined space. and no, there are no pistils, there isn't even much of a hint of branching at the node points yet.

New seeds can be really quick, older seeds can be a few days. Usually 2-3 days or so. Unless they're gonna be loosing moisture, I'd just leave them.

your problem then is more than likely with the soil itself, what kind are you using? is it well drained?

what kind of setup do you have soil? hydro?

I don't think I've ever had a germination issue.. for some reason people have seemed to make it harder than it is. I just do it in peat pellets, soak, plant, cover in a dome and just walk away, in a couple days I have some plants going.

If I'm reading that meter correctly it looks like you could stand to make your water or soil slightly more acidic.

can't really tell from the pics, just give it time.. don't really have anything to worry about until your fem seeds start showing pistils any ways(sounds like you got lots of time).. wait it out a bit, and it will become obvious and not guess work.

Looks pretty tiny for a month, I'm new to this myself and have done everything imaginable to my plants and have yet to kill one by accident. Definitely looks like it needs more light.

giving them more light isn't going to stress them.

Looks like everything is into full bloom, pistils shooting out all over the place, a nice aroma starting to build, and it looks like the nodes should be nice and tight. This is what I see when I open my closet now, day 14 since 12/12.

I've also found that they seem to take better when they have a bit more darkness. Never tried in 12/12, but have done 14 hours.
