Need some suggestions on building a growing room.

I guess it's the environment where you have your setup......I myself don't have any humidity problems etc. I run all year round without heating or ac, sure it gets warm in summer but not enough to effect my grow. Sure it's simple, but its no where as simple as putting a tent together is it...

Need some suggestions on building a growing room.

Dam I would have paid postage......... I guess with tents, you either hate or love em. As for the op he did state something simple and I'd hardly call building walls simple, and who knows if he even owns the house he's living in. I guess even if people do own there house, there still not going...

Need some suggestions on building a growing room.

I wouldn't go near that setup. It's a pain getting quality shit here in oz. Buy a quality ballast like a lumatek or known brand. Then a half decent reflector......maybe a cooltube. Then hit ebay for tent, ducting, yoyos etc. And if your going with 400w get a tent around 1.2m 1.2m 2.0m in size.

    My Horizontal Grow

Here's what I use to tie plants down, not really sure what there called some sort of paper clip. Just clamp to your pot bend one of the arms back up, tie your string to it then clamp the other end between the pot and clamp. Easy to adjust, easy to setup and remove. Cheap as shit to implement lol.

    Hand Watering Hydroponics?

I hand water running 75% perlite 25% vermi, but that being said I leave my pots sitting in a tray of run off so the plants can feed/drink 24/7. Perlite acts as a wick but keeps enough oxygen, so plants can't be overwatered. I used to dump the run off, and still got impressive results. But now...

    1000w Eye Hortilux Low Lumins

It's not really that clear though, manufacturers will publish lumens with there product. And this gives customers a idea about intensity of that light, you also need to take into account the spectrum of the light. Lumen is a measurement of all the light , in the visible spectrum (390-700nm) Par...

    Yield to watt

Something doesn't seem right......... I suppose I can't really tell how big that plants is, but I would expect another 11 plants that size when using 1200w of power. What sort of light are you using?

    1000w Eye Hortilux Low Lumins

True that they are not exactly the same, but as far as bulbs go they are considered the same. They share the same problem of driving bulbs at high frequency, hence why came electronic/digital bulbs. If you had looked at the description for 1000w hort it even states it is be used with...

    1000w Eye Hortilux Low Lumins

A e-ballast is a digital ballast. The e stands electronic, some manufacturer's call em digital some call them electronic. By the look of things you doing well getting that sort of lumens at that distance. According to chart below.

    Lights

Sorry I should have been more clear, in your op you stated your setup consists of 4 plants. Then you state you want either 2 1000w or 4 600w per plant. So I guess the question was how many lights do you want? 2 1000w or 4 600w for the whole room or per plant.

    Lights

Yeah go with 4 600's, try to get ballasts with a 1k and 600w setting that way you have the option of buying some 1k bulbs in future, if you need to do so. Edit I think the above apply's, but after reading you say for each plant with a total of 4 plants. So your thinking eg 8 1k or 16 600w ?

Looking for information on my change from 1000w to 600w

I just checked the spectrum of 430w hps and the 430w dimmed to 250w, and yes the spectrum does shift, reds become more yellow and blues moves towards green. I haven't tested it but I'd say overdriving a hps would improve the spectrum.

    Aphid problem.

Oddly enough it was only one pot, I think all my plants in separate trays stopped em from spreading. Perlite is well and truly dried out, the plant is burning. Though today it looked like I have won the battle. Hundreds dead and I don't see anything moving :) I'm going to leave it one more day...

New lights not drawing advertised wattage

Just bought some pll's, each fixture has 2 dual 55w ballasts but it is only drawing 160w instead of 220w. I'm guessing they shafted me and gave me 40w bulbs? Or could it be cheap ballasts? There is nothing on the bulbs to indicate the watts or temp. I'm not sure if the bulbs dictate how many...
