    can plants survive 40 f (4c)

At that stage, an overnight at those temps might turn them purple (some strains it certainly would, just one night). Wont hurt em particularly (it's not great for them, it's inherent from a slowdown of P (or is it k>?), but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

    How Much Lime?

I just toss in a few small handfuls for about 3 gallons of soil. The deal is, too much in theory can be bad for your plant.. if it was going to live longer than a few months in that pot. Lime doesn't really start breaking down till about the time the plant starts to die, so overdoing it is...

    Please help! Plant isn't happy!

Welcome to my budget friendly, 100 percent effective Mobile Veg room (at night while flowers are sleeping) ... That fixture and any wall, is the perfect height to veg two of these babies in 3 gallon pots, to just about 'this' point.. Peace~!

Can I use ferts on the first day of planting

The idea should be to read the plant, and fret as it needs it. Not right out of the gate before it has even opened its mouth the first time. Extra food for a plant, doesn't work the same as it does for a human . You over feed a plant, they get skinny and die. You over feed a human, and well...

LED grow and the buds seem "airy", not dense

My opinion (you asked). Never, unless it is essential, cut off the 'sun leaves'. They are there to collect light and absorb stress, mistakes, disease and other problems (they are the first to go and a warning signal. Without them the plant attacks the next leaves in line). FOr decades I have...

    Please help! Plant isn't happy!

Honestly? I would take that big ass light (nice light, get you some miles) and save not only resources, but encourage the plant (for the time being) to grow squat and stubby, and put a simple low watt (25-30) CFL in the 6500k spectrum and watch her do her thing, save money, resources and...

    what would you do

With that setup? I would have those Fu#%ers so bent down and LST'd and pinched over and whatever it takes, and flowered them at about.. 10 inches high. It's not a lot of light, but it can be managed well. Well.. you did ask what 'I' would do.. so I wasn't harping on what you are doing.. just...

    Fans blowing on plants

Just don't windstorm them.. Wind beats burn if it is a rock paper scissors game.. but ya, keep em mellow, mine are ALWAYS blowing gently at the tops.

    What makes thin stems?

Yup.. it's a light issue. Best bet in Vegas. Get one or two 6500k CFL within 2 inches of them. Maybe tie her over and make her reach back up to the light until you get it grooving. The 6500k cfls really keep a plant short with tight internodes and veggie..

Question? cant find it anywhere soo...

Not exacxtly sure what you are asking.. If you mean will it take a fully vegged out bigger plant longer to finish flowering than a skimpier less vegged plant.. well, indoors, ya, a few days anyway. Large plants take a bit longer to mature indoors simply because of the limitations of indoor...

Spider Mite Control | Uncontrollable! Help!

I'm lucky in that I only ever have 2 smaller plants at one time to maintain anymore, so these days I use plain old water (if heavy in to bud I will use a bit of alcohol in the water as a drying agent). Get under EVERY leaf Every day for a few days, they just move out.. It still sucks and even...

    When to flush?

I do whole plant hang dry's. When you do whole plant dry's, after you cut it, the plant stays alive for a few days and is still transpiring and moving and using resources. There is NO more flavorful grass, than when whole plant hangs and cures until it is completely ready to smoke/eat.. If it...

why do we germinate our seeds on paper first and then transplant to medium?

We sometimes do things because we can physically see the results.. and we like that. Other than that, I have found just planting the damn things in soil to be pretty well 100 percent effective. No need to reinvent the wheel much here.. Plant seed in soil, 2nd oldest trick in the book.

    Starting week 2 of flower!!

Oh.. and there isn't a lot you can do about it this time.. except introduce a bit of nitrogen back into the system over time. But NEXT TIME.. you and anyone reading this.. please feel free to continue using full strength veg foods until way after initial stretch on the onset of flowering.

    Starting week 2 of flower!!

Contrary to much popular opinion, plants need a lot of nitrogen going into and all the way through stretch... or raher, one of the most common mistakes is people quit feeding N as a primary way too early. If this is you, think about, and fix this. It's important, always has been, always will...

Question about Light Potency during seedling stage

It's not real efficient though.. If it were me at this stage, because I like to save money, bulbs, resources, not battle heat, and simply because it is a very healing spectrum for sick plants and seedlings, 1 CFL (6500k) for another week, then maybe two of them for at LEAST a week after that...

3 Gallon too small or just fine?

I use 1 to 2 gallon pots (it really depends on space at the time, sometimes I use a 40 oz pop bottle if I am running out of room) for everything (vegged for a bit over a month with some pretty radical training), never get anything less than 2 z a plant.. and pretty well average about 2 z a...
