I made some bumper stickers prior to the caucus:
Ron Paul
Ralph Nader
2012

I'm glad to see that they may indeed come in handy!

I actually support UB in his cause of cleaning up the RP spam. I just felt it needed to be said that he should be fair to all. His opinions of RP tend to drive him more than anything.

What ever.
If for no other reason, consolidating the threads into categories would allow for a more coherent discussion.

I agree, but sometimes I hate reading post after post, I'll admit it. That's my problem though.

Anybody else think the search function here sucks ass?

I am willing to bet every single former Bachmanite votes RP as he is the only Conservative left.

The most likely outcome and results over the next 4 years; Romney gets the GOP, Paul runs as an Indy, GOP is DECIMATED, Obama wins and forces war with Iran, Oil goes through the roof, Dollar collapses or nearly collapses and is either slowed or saved by massive QE, we are all made much poorer, Gold goes through the roof and Obama forces gold confiscation and sets generic price to protect dollar just like FDR did.
(just for the record i beleive the exact same thing would play out if Romney or any other stuffed suit GOP candidate won the presidency)
What little vote Bachmann got is the evangelical vote. That is Santorum's.

I haven't noticed anyone speaking on behalf of Iowans who should be apoligising for soposedly not voting Paul in every county

It was fun while it lasted, but Paul's failure to win Iowa marks the end of his career. Unless Santorum and Romney get hit by a bus, there is no path to win the whitehouse for Ron Paul.
While that is likely the case, it is not necessarily the case. In 1980 George H.W. Bush defeated Ronald Reagan in the Iowa caucus. Which ended up the President, well, which one ended up being president in that election year? Ronnie.

Bill Clinton lost Iowa in his first presidential run and then won New Hampshire and was nicknamed "The Comeback Kid" and that propelled him into the White House.

Iowa is important, but losing it is not the deathknell for a candidate that many believe it to be.

But in Ron Paul's case, since that is where he was doing the best, if he couldn't win there his odds of winning elsewhere, let alone the party's nomination, are slim to none.

I hope Ron the Paul enjoys his retirement. Maybe he should start a newsletter. I hope he turns down medicare and social security, oh and the government pension he will receive. He IS a purist after all.

Now all that's left for him to do is be a mild annoyance, then retire where he will fade into obscurity and be forgotten entirely.

I don't think a person like Ron Paul is in it for personal acclaim or a "career", I believe he is more interested in proliferating liberty ideas and concepts....in that regard he has already won.

I don't believe he participates in the Congressional pension plan. Also he has pledged to take about $39,000 per year if he was elected President.

I guess we'll find out when he retires after losing the GOP nomination. ;)
I don't think he ever expected to win the nomination. He unlike most of the egotist in the running has a different agenda. I think he's awakened many people to liberty concepts and that has been his goal all along. There is little difference between the standard Republican and standard Democrat...both seek to hold the gun and force people to comply with their idea of how they should run their life, use their property or spend their money. In case you were wondering, I don't think "Ron Paul's gonna save the world". I just appreciate that he values liberty and is less of a dick than most politicians.
