In the 1990s a friend of mine built an op in his house and then showed me how to do it. This was in buckets with clay balls, recirculating. I have stayed with hydro ever since.@klx
Where did you find the inspiration for running your system like you do?
Is there also perhaps a person who did it the same as you are doing it now.
How far away from the canopy do u start and keep your lights during flower? just curious..Nearing the finish line for this SoG tray. Day 57.

I think that will do it for this little journal. Everything has been covered and a few runs documented. Just gets boring really as its the same thing over and over. Happy growing all
Depends on the wattage but I like to run them as bare cobs, no lenses or reflectors as close as possible. Right now they are at about 80W per cob (1000W total) and they are about 60cm (2 feet) away. How far away from the canopy do u start and keep your lights during flower? just curious..
Make a new thread in the Hydroponics section.I think that will do it for this little journal. Everything has been covered and a few runs documented. Just gets boring really as its the same thing over and over. Happy growing all
Cheers mate thanks for stopping in. Keep on Soggin!!!Bravo, klx. Absolutely fucking beautiful grows, dude.
Good man! This thread is very informative. You've convinced me to try medium-less flood/drain growing the klx way. Very clean, very simple setup and the results are amazing. I'm gonna try it on my next SOG.
Hey mate, yeah I have looked into that but I use Gibberellic acid to reverse females because you dont need to use it as much and you can also use it to pop old seeds.Hmmm, yummy!
You could feminize her with some colodial silver spray, mate. It's pretty easy and cheap to make it DIY or you buy it in the pharmacy. 50ppm in enough! For a DIY CS generator you only need some .999 silver(I prefer twisted wires), a 9v/1A e3ay wall plug driver, a jar and a pair of croco clamps to make something that looks like this...View attachment 4193666
Now fill in some aqua dest, plug the driver in and let it run 12-24h to get this..

It's a solution with 15-20ppm silver ions.
If you find a keeper take two cuttings and spray one of them once or two times the day beginning with FD1. Within 30-40 days the sprayed plant developes a lot of male flowers between the fem ones. When they begin to open and show nanners collect some male flowers, dry them and sweep them through a sieve to separate the pollen and fertilze the other plant manually. Both plants will produce lots of femi seeds(exact genetic copies) so you can get away with only one cutting but they look weakened after spraying and have to recover first and that could have negative effects on the seeds. That's why I prefer to do it always with two cuttings. The whole process takes a bit longer (1-2 weeks) because at the beginning the sprayed plant seems to almost die. For this reason the 2nd cutting goes a bit later into flowering.
Usually you can collect male flowers between day 40 and 50 and this way I can fertilize the 2nd one around day 35.
Here is an old thread with detailed how-to, pics and stuff on icmag but it's a long one; the interesting stuff starts on page 42..

Cheers broNice stuff man
I was wondering if you let the pump for your cloner run 24/7 ?Clones
As I do zero veg SoGs for production I need to have 24 well rooted clones ready to go precisely when the previous flower run is chopped so aero cloner it is. DIY esky version. Works a treat. Tap water only + H2O2 and if I need to keep the clones in there for extended periods for whatever reason I would run a weak veg solution so they hit the ground running when going to flower.
