How to mitigate smelling like your garden so you don't get fired?

I used to run home on lunch for years to take a few bong hits. All I did was gargle with listerine before heading back. Nobody ever smelled anything. This was in an office environment with people sitting right next to me.

You're hand is going to smell like weed if you squeeze the flowers but that's easily washed off. And then an application of some scented hand lotion and you're good to go. Half the people on this site smoke all day long and interact with other people daily without smelling like weed.

There is just no way that you're going to be reeking of weed from the minimal contact you have with one 3 ft outdoor plant. It's not like you're out there naked hugging it.
I have had buds that look so good I wanted to stick my dick in them.

I haven't yet but I just might as my wife likes the taste of fresh weed.....

I appreciate everyone's input, truly I do. And of course I knew the risks of posting in this forum.

I will simply say again, be grateful you made the decisions you all did that got you to where you are that you can say and do the things you do.

Me, I pigeonholed myself into a career path that is my "only" path at this point in my life. And I work in an industry that is both cutthroat and unforgiving. One mistake, and I'm out, forever.

Call it paranoid, ridiculous, lame... whatever you want. I'm just trying to stay alive over here.

I don't want to wear a tyvek suit. But I had more fun growing the one plant I did, trimming the trash flowers, all of it, then I have had in decades.

I just want to keep doing it, it's so incredibly enjoyable, rewarding, theraputic.... but it might also get me fired. Therein lies the dichotomy.

I stopped worrying after legalization because everywhere I go it’s all you can smell now
Rec legal here but it is still a valid worry for a lot of people. In my line of work reeking of weed on the the job would get you fired and likely blackballed.
Some people really are super smellers too. I came in from watering and walked past my wife the other night. She said “geez, were you out there rolling in it or what?” I had brushed against a couple of plants but wasn’t fondling them or doing naked hugging.

Some people are super smellers. I like that. I agree with you and I’m wondering why that is? I find some folks reek of pot more than others.

I couldn't morally smoke for my work life. So I manned up and didn't smoke. I'm retired now and I grow and smoke.

I was referring to some people’s sense of smell - wife’s nose is much more sensitive than mine.
But yes, some people do seem to have smells cling to them more too - bud, cigs, beer, perfume/cologne. Not sure why that is either.

First off, great video-song response. That was hilarious. Very poignant.

But please don't try to argue the morality of medication. I'm not talking about cannabis consumption before or during work.

But if I was, I guess it would be okay to use "prescribed" opiates and the like at work, would that be "morally" okay for you?

What you’re experiencing is common, we all love growing pot, but it’s real addictive….

Guess I missed your point, but yeah some folks do seem to hang onto smells. When I smoke a joint, even I know I reek. Long hair makes it worse too.

Nice strawman you came up with. So now it's not cannabis, it's medicine. If you've been prescribed it and it's legal, why are you so afraid of someone smelling or finding something legal on you that you use for pain control purposes? Subterfuge begs the question of morality.

You opened up that door. Not me.

Believe what you will I could care less.

Which is the point. No one that matters, no one that has control and power in this world cares what you or I think or believe. Legal, illegal, matters not.

Only thing that matters is what is. As in what is the truth. And the truth is that cannabis has been, is, and for the foreseeable future will always have a certain stigma attached to it. And because of that, anyone involved with it in any way shape or form will be circumstance to any and all possible consequences including and up to losing one's job or good reputation.

I didn't make the rules, but dammit, I'm gonna figure out how to play safely within them while "medicating."

Been working out so far. But good on you girl for "manning" up.

If you were so concerned about “ marijuana odor “ why get all excited about seed drops and strawberry strains in your postings ?
Sounded like you were asking why Purp punch may not be ” terpy “ , plus your Oregon elite grab. Doesn’t sound like a person worried about “ loud strains “ .

Your words - “ I need every BBC cross or I else I will die “

Gonna get on my soapbox for a moment here. OP, from your posts it's clear that the smell issue is genuinely one that has you concerned and you're looking for intelligent responses on dealing with cannabis odors clinging to you. It sounds like you're an older individual on here than alot of folks - probably a gen-x-er. As a general rule, we tend to be a little more prickly and sensitive online than millennials or gen-z folks.
Really suggest that you take all the responses as they come and don't stress about about the ones that aren't helpful to you. The only way to control people's responses on online forums is to refrain from posting at all. Most of the people that responded really were trying to help, you're always going to get that big range of responses from people not believing you to people saying "screw everyone, it's legal so light up at your desk and fuck what anyone else thinks."
You're also going to get a certain amount of needling on here. As long as it's not a flushing thread, most of the needling is meant as good-natured.
Regarding the "morality" comment - cannabis use is really a no-go for some people in certain professions - certain medical fields, commercial airline pilots, things like that. Call it morality, professionalism, or whatever. You're 100% correct that there is a certain stigma attached to cannabis use, particularly in the US and more so in some states than others. Whether that stigma changes with increased legalization remains to be seen. The millenials and gen-z kids I work with do have a far more permissive view of cannabis use as a whole than the gen-x'ers and boomers.
That's not to say there aren't doctors who use cannabis, or pilots who do (harder there with mandatory drug screenings). Point is that many people in those professions do feel a professional/moral obligation to refrain from cannabis use. That doesn't mean they are anti-cannabis. The range of opinions on cannabis use is going to be just as varied and nuanced among doctors and pilots as it is among engineers and electricians.
Curious2garden can and will defend herself, but most people would feel fortunate to have her commenting on their threads. She's quite prolific, has a wealth of knowledge and manages to make both witty and intelligent contributions daily. You do not have to agree with her, but don't get hung up on the morality comment, reading that as an observer it was not directed at you or or at the morality of using cannabis.
Stepping off my soapbox now, need to get back to work.
Good luck with solving your smell issues and hopefully continuing to grow - sounds like you really have enjoyed your first go round with your white widow lady!

You are correct. And I stand by my words, as an expression. I won't really die, I can live without it. I was just having fun, come on now.

My new found "concern" is none of anyone's business. I wasn't concerned before, I am now.

That's the great thing about life, you can change your ideas or opinions as you learn new things and go through new experiences.
