I grow perpetual. You'll need one light for your new seedlings, one for your vegging plants, and two for flowering - yep it's a huge height difference when they first go in compared to later stages. Technically speaking you could do one light, but your younger plants will stretch more than you...

I don't think that amount of usage would be suspiscious at all. A lived in house uses more than a pair of 1000w lights, with all the appliances running - stove, fridge, washer and dryer. You get the idea.

I don't think just changing your hood will help that much, maybe a little but would it be enough? I would probably go with the 600w. You could put it closer to your canopy, at least make up a little difference for the power loss.

HID lights win, hands down. I have nothing against CFL's - I veg under them. 400w worth of CFL's are going to use pretty much the same amount of electricity as a 400w HID, as well as put off similiar amounts of heat. The biggest difference between them, is the CFL's will not penetrate your plant...

Glad to hear your baby is doing better. Just an FYI for future reference - the humidity should not be getting up to 95% - that's too high, and can cause you worse problems in the future, could even kill your plant. If you're still getting those numbers I would invest in a dehumidifier ASAP.

I agree. Too wet, too much humidity for a seedling, and maybe too cold as well - I'm not great with celsius. You're drowning your seeds, that's what's happening. Rotting them. You need a new soil mix (including perlite) for drainage, and oxygen to the roots. Those plants will not make it to the...

I second that, especially if you only have room for one or two plants. With regular seeds you'll get a female one in two or three. No guarentees then either, you could be unlucky and get all males even if you plant ten.
