    Just made the transition

I mostly agree with your explanation. I just want to offer the OP one qualification on this particular statement: plants are good at adapting to changes in environment. Any slowing down in photosynthesis resulting from a different light source will be short term. The rule I've heard from several...

Looking to start using Led [need directions]

I beg to disagree, and I'm no liar. At OP: check out my signature, I have a journal going, and I've made a few videos and posted them to youtube. All LED. Or, I should say, all high quality LEDs. Cheap, mass produced LEDs dropshipped from China will probably not measure up to HID lighting...

    L.E.D Help

Have you grown with any reputable LEDs? Have you looked at some of the LED grow journals on this website? Me thinks not, or else you would be singing a different tune.

    Procyon 300 beta testing

Haha, I don't know if I'd recommend it. You'd end up with a thrashed grow and some very mellow raccoons.

    L.E.D Help

Can't vouch for the health of plants grown under that kind of light. The spectrum is very lacking, and I doubt there's a warranty to lean on buying thru ebay like that. To answer the question, yes, you probably could grow a couple of plants under there. But I wouldn't recommend it. I would...

Fusion reflector? I smell a gimmick. Has anyone else read the horrible things that the HydroGrow owner has supposedly done in the past? I stumbled across some different stories when I was researching LEDs, it sounds like she's pretty scandalous. All I can say...karma is a bitch.

    Procyon 300 beta testing

Took a brief glance at the website, some flawed information on there. I also couldn't find where it said they were manufactured in the US, do you have a direct link to a page that says as much? Either way, interested to see what these can do. Random fun fact, Procyon is the name of one of the...

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

My understanding of accessory pigments and their functions is clouded by time (and the accumulated affects of a certain type of plant), but as I understand it [healthy] plants maintain a certain ratio of carotenoids to chloroplasts within green material as a rule. You can alter the rate of...

MamaKush First Post-Prop 64 Journal ; Soil Under BlackDogLED

Time to play catch-up! I posted my harvest but not the flowering that was going on behind the scenes, so here we go... The girls to the left are getting ready for harvest; the plants to the right are in week 1 of flower: After harvest with the younger girls, now in week 2, spread out: Onto...

MamaKush First Post-Prop 64 Journal ; Soil Under BlackDogLED

I can't imagine it would taste good. I've never tried. Low and slow all the way.

led lighting, can i use this from veg to bloom

Can you tell us anything more specific about the spectrum and diodes? 1w 3w or 5w chips? Wattage? One way to find out is to just try it, but cheap chinese lights with limited spectrums are the reason a lot of people think you can't flower under LED.

Nice looking buds. Is that your grow? I'm just wondering whether it's difficult to keep those exposed heat sink fins clean.

I'm not all that convinced we "know a lot of what we know." Rather, I think we think we know a lot about which we actually know very little. But I'll be damned if we aren't confident about what we think we know!

I was under the impression (given to me by past professors) that some carotenoids are responsible for the absorption of green light? Energy is then passed to photosynthesizing pigments. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Epistar LEDs ??

Depends on the combination of wavelengths used.

Black Dog LED new Universal series

What that says to me is that you need to have a spectrum that constantly, simultaneously (when the light is on, of course) excites PSI and PSII. Interesting analogy with muscle fibers. We are all one.....

Black Dog LED new Universal series

Thanks, SDS. I understand that plants react to UVB radiation to prevent DNA damage... I remember from plant phys that UVB creates thymine dimers, which if not repaired are absolutely lethal, and also that UVB causes denaturation of essential components of photosystem 2. I hypothesize that only...
