Yeah, that's normal. They don't stay for long. They fall right off. The ones on my current plants have completely turned from yellow to brown, and fallen right off.

How long does it take the roots to reach the water? Say I start off in a rockwool cube surrounded by hydroton. Do I have to water the rockwool until the roots reach the water?

Wow. The instructions helped out quite a bit. I now know to use air stone in the bottom. I have so many of those tubs that are just sitting about. I need airstones. So, that's on the list now. Does it matter what length? Bigger the air stone the better?
