I have done the long veg and had excellent results, the plants get huge. Just make sure they have ample room or too much gets wasted due to overcrowding. I've never heard of bubba, but with a name like that you've got to expect some fat tops

I use sensi 2 part, and I like to keep my ppm's around 650 during veg the whole time. I ramp em during flower from 650 to 1050 back down to 750 before flush.

I only ever used hps and have been happy with em. The air stone should work fine provided that your air pump produces enough.

you can do 2 in 18gal, but you will probably want to do some bending to minimize crowding. Once your roots get insane it will be tough to switch buckets as the roots grow around the air stones and hose. That is also why I stopped using mister systems in the flower room after all the spray...
