I heard somewhere that those foam cups you can get at the dollar store are good for starting in, because the roots can grow through the cup so all you have to do is plant the cup into soil and its fine, eliminating the transplant process. I was wondering if this was true?

yes it is better to use your own soil mix, its just very expensive, and heavy work if your growing 50+ plants outdoors. native soil works well. I always try to grow as many as I can with good soil but its very out of my way so to speak.
